I must be the first one up MMP

I attempted to go back to bed for a little snooze, but as soon as I got all snuggly, the smoke alarm beeped. Dying battery, not a fire. But it did that on and off for the next hour. Then I heard my daughter get up to go do her run, and when I heard her come back, I gave up and got up.

I’ve made the cheese sauce for the broccoli, cut up and partly cooked the carrots, and now I’m having some breakfast. Next will be shower and dress, but I’m letting my sweetie sleep in a bit longer. The sun is shining and it’s chilly out there. Life is good.

Howdy Y’all! I shall now revise my earlier weather forecast. The revised forecast for the day is…

ICK!!!

‘Tis pourin’ rain big time and has been since around eight this mornin’. I have cornbread in the oven and as soon as it finishes bakin’ we shall have N.O.L., spoilered so as not to cause flytrap to clutch his pearls and faint, which shall be…

beef tips 'n rice, field peas w/snaps, and duh, cornbread. I also have a peach cobbler ready to go in the oven when the cornbread is done.

On the plus side, weather wise, da cave windows are open, which is always nice.

Laterz!

Fun thread. My initial contribution:

Was awoken by my cell phone alarm at 8 o’clock; moaned; turned it off. Awoke again about an hour later when Mom came in from her shower. Stopped by both the Food Lion and the McDonald’s on the way to church; can you believe they’ve already got Christmas displays up? Crazy.

Pastor’s sermon was about Jephthah (the soldier who was forced to sacrifice his daughter) and Uriah (the man whom King David had killed so he could have Uriah’s wife Bathsheba all to himself.) (Off-topic, but all of those names are recognized by SDMB’s spellchecker!) We also sang the anthems to all five armed services, as today is Veterans Day observance.

Sticking around the church until after tonight’s fundraising dinner, which is to support one of our missionary families which is living in Haiti.

I actually knew what I was confused about!

The Peanuts Movie was actually pretty darn good. I had only two issues with it:

In the original literature, Peppermint Patty never quite caught on to the fact that Snoopy was a dog; in the movie she refers to him as a dog. And in the literature you never get to see the Pretty Red-Haired Girl let alone hear her speak to Charlie Brown.

But considering what Hollywood did to Watchers and Starship Troopers I can live with it. Lots of other adults without kids there and what kids there were behaved very well.

Welcome!!!

(Don’t know about anyone else but I’m thinking “Flipper” for a Mumper name)

Still rainy and ick out. I see standin’ water in the back yahd. So outside of deheathenization, the makin’ and eatage of N.O.L., today’s other accomplishment has been nappage.

Welcome Flipper! ruble hath decreed it, so mote it be.

Home from deheathenating, eating some canned soup for lunch. Must get after homework soon, but this may require an additional dose of Mt. Dew for the necessary alertness.

Also should run a load of laundry today.

Just finished a very satisfyin’ dindin of, spoilered so as not to give flytrap a case of the vapors,…

homemade chikin noodle soup and grilled cheese sammiches.

'Tis not quite six p.m. and I want to go sleepy bye. Still dreary, rainy, and now dark out. ICK!

Dinner tonight was a chocolatey protein shake. Envy me.

Geese and other large domestic fowl are not safe around Spiderman.

I worked, I came home, I walked Gordie. Dinner tonight is mesquite poke chops with sweet potatoes seasoned with ancho chilie powder and steamed green beans with red peppers and roasted Serrano peppers.

Welcome, Flipper!

Home, exhausted. I’ve met my nephew and his adoptive parents. It was a good family gathering - Higgs begged for and got lots of scraps. Daughter was consigned to my sister so she’ll have a ride to the airport in the morning.

She took took tons of photos - next stop is FB to check them out. A certain **FCD **did a lot of photobombing - that’s what I gotta see.

Meanwhile, MWAH!!

The best shrimp that I ever ate was in a restaurant in New Orleans. They met the boat at the back of the building with a bucket and tossed them still wriggling into boiling water, scooped them out and brought them to me on top of shaved ice.

Soon we shall retire to the boudoir to watch teevee and so forth until sleepy time. Still rainy out and cool. I shall close da cave windows before retirin’. Should be a good night for sleepin’.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

Dinner at church was delicious. Lasagna, salad, garlic knots, tiramisu. All to support our missionary family, Chris and Christina Surber and kids, living in Haiti. Now relaxing at home, reading Deep Space Nine screenplays and chatting in mah chatroom.

If your denomination is in Full Communion with the ELCA can I get you to sneak me some garlic knots? Dinner for us was simple home-made burgers. I would elaborate but I think I did enough of that for the week already.

PS – Flipper – look for a new and market-fresh MMP come tomorrow morning.

Did we grocery shop together? Mine was a pan grilled poke chop seasoned wit cinnamon, garlic and cumin, green beans sauteed with onion and mushrooms and home fried sweet N.O.T.s. Fried apples for dessert.

I saw the opera “Little Women” at McGill today.

Still working on music arrangements.
