I nearly killed my kitten.

bodypoet, you can’t get an update on Sunday? That sucks. Hope the little guy gets better.

My fingers are crossed for the little guy!

My two cats, Phoebe and Midnight, and my dog, Auggie, send good healing vibes to Bounce. Please update us as soon as you hear something.

Keep the faith, bodypoet. A vet friend has told me many “from the brink of death” kitty stories. Hugs to you and Bounce.

All kitty love is good!

I will be sending the best hopes and thoughts and prayers to Bast, in order to have Bounce bounce back!

Hope you get good news in the morning ::crossing fingers::. Minx and I are sending out our best healing vibes out to Bounce (that’s a great name :))
When Minx was a baby she jumped into the dryer as I was (luckily) unloading it. I didn’t see her do it so I just closed the door and went on my merry way. After an hour of not being able to find my shadow I was walking past the laundry room and I heard a tiny, muffled “meow”, I looked all around the room until I finally realized where she must be. Needless to say, she was a bit miffed at me

I found a kitten in my car the other day! I’m just driving along and hear a tiny “mew!” How he got in there without me noticing, I’ll never figure out. Fortunately I was able to retrace my steps and get him back to his home.

Don’t beat yourself up over this. Accidents happen, and you do the best you can. Kittens are tiny but resilient; I’m hoping you and lil’ Bounce have nine --well, eight-- more long, happy lives together.

So…there’s this other thread about women who kill kittens

Oh Jesus . . . this has got to be the hardest thing in the world. Please keep us all updated.

He’s alive!! I just talked to the nurse. She sounded somewhat surprised, but said, “You know, the little dickens is eating now!”
They want to keep him until tomorrow, as he’s still somewhat confused and unsteady from the head injury, but if he continues to improve I should be able to bring him home tomorrow.
I feel SO much better now. Maybe I can finally sleep again.

Yaayy!

:d

Yay!!

Aww! Bounce is a tough little guy  I’m so happy for you two!!!

Hooray!

Another reason for antibiotics: When one of our guinea pigs attempted - unsuccessfully - to demonstrate that pigs can fly, he had audible rattling from bleeding in his lungs. The vet gave him antibiotics to prevent any sort of infection from settling into the fluid in his lungs before his body could heal / resorb the fluid.

And Bodypoet - how awful that must have been. I still feel very guilty over Panda’s (guinea pig) injury as I was the one holding him when he was hurt - I was standing on a hardwood floor, something spooked him, and he leapt out of my arms and face-down on the floor. I could tell he hadn’t injured his spine, because the poor thing ran squealing in terror all around the house before I caught him. I was shaking for hours even after the vet had seen him and told me he’d likely be OK.

I’m so glad to hear your kitten is doing a bit better today!

YIPPEE!

I am so glad to hear that, for you especially. Now all that remains are the cutesy photos of the cutesy Bounce.

Yup, I think whatever remained of my masculinity went straight out the window with that sentence.

Yay for healthy Bounce!

Just the news I want to hear after a seminar. (Which lasted an hour, even though it was supposed to be 3. So yay for short seminars too!)
