I need a collection of songs with a money theme.

Short story shorter, I’ve got a project where I need a selection of songs about money.

I’ve got the classic three.

Pink Floyd: Money
Abba: Money, Money, Money
Dires Straits: Money for Nothing

Obviously I could use my awesome Google-fu to look up more, but my New Year’s resolution is to expend no more effort than necessary, so I’ll pose it here instead.

The requirement is that the primary subject of the song be money. Just mentioning money is not sufficient.

For this reason,

Soul Coughing: $300
Cage the Elephant: Ain’t No Rest For The Wicked

are inelligible.

So tell me Dopers, whatcha got?

ETA: Crap. Can I get a mod to fix the title?

If I were a rich man.

Money (Makes the World Go Around) from CABARET

God Bless the Child by Billie Holiday]
All For the Best from Godspell

Another Saturday Night by Cat Stevens

Money (That’s What I Want) by The Beatles

Tax Man by The Beatles (George Harrison authored)

The Ojays’ “For the Love of Money”

Eric B and Rakim’s “Paid in Full” is definitely about money.

Rush - The Big Money, from the album Power Windows

Take the Money and Run

Easy Money

“Money (That’s What I Want)” has been recorded by approximately a zillion different groups, including the Beatles.

Your lovin’ gives me a thrill
But your lovin’ don’t pay my bills

“Gimme Some Money” is a Spinal Tap classic.

*Stop wasting my time
You know what I want
You know what I need
Or maybe you don’t

Do I have to come right flat out and tell you everything?
Gimme some money, gimme some money*

Money Honey (Elvis)

Cindy Lauper – Money Changes Everything

John Gorka – Land of the Bottom Line

Oh yeah and:

Busted - Ray Charles

or maybe

Busted - Johnny Cash

“Eat the Rich”-Aerosmith

The Who’s “Silas Stingy” is about a miser who’s obsessed with fears of his money being stolen.

“Why Don’t You Do Right?”, by various torch singers, such as Lil Green, Peggy Lee, or Jessica Rabbit. It has the line, “Bring me some money, too.”

“Gee Baby, Ain’t I Good to You?”

If You’ve Got The Money Honey I’ve Got The Time

“Money Is” by Little Richard. Haven’t found it on the web yet.

It was the theme song to the movie “$,” which is a clever crime caper film with Warren Beatty and Goldie Hawn.

First verse and chorus, as best I remember:

I got a Ph.D. in how to make ends meet
I graduated from the college of the street
Inflation in the nation doesn’t bother me
'Cause I’m a scholar when it comes to the almighty dollar

Money, money, money, money’s on my mind
Money, money, money moves me, I even like the money sign
I’m so keen with the green
I make a mark want to bark
Make a pound want to frown
Make a dollar want to holler
Money, money, money, money’s on my mind

Projammer requested that the main subject of the song be about money, not just mentioning it in a line or two.

10cc: “Wall Street Shuffle”

M-O-N-E-Y by Lyle Lovett
The Money Song by Eric Idle
The classic blues song Nobody Loves You When You’re Down and Out (Bessie Smith did it first).
