I had a little mixup and now my batter doesnt work. I need to buy a new one and I have no problem installing it myself. However doing searches of the local best buy and verizon stores seems to come up empty.
A froogle search showed many treo 600 batteries which range in specs: froogle link
Choices like
Hi Capacity Battery - 2000mAh DIY Internal Battery
3.7V 2000MAH NOMEM LITHIUM-ION BATTERY and
Smart Phone 3.7v - 1600mAh Li-ION Battery …
come up.
Even though I have verizon as service, it seems sprint has an internal battery that fits the broad range that those searches brought up.
So I need a battery, today. I have a sprint store, best buy, wal-mart, verizon store and the basics around me. What batteries can I use with my phone? It’s an internal battery.
What’s my best bet to buy a battery? Like I had said, on the sprint site it seemed as though a blackberry battery may fit but I have no idea! I’m battery Illiterate! HELP!!!?!!!
The mAh (milliamp-hours) rating is just an expression of the capacity of the battery; provided it’s the right voltage and it will physically fit/connect to your phone, any of them will work, but the higher mAh ratings will give you longer standby/talk time.
Sometimes, the mAh ratings on OEM rechargable batteries are… welll… slightly exaggerated; be cautious if it looks too cheap.
I’ve got some friends who have the 600 and that’s one of their biggest complaints - no battery replacement. I know Palm listened to them, because the battery on my (fairly new) 650 looks and acts like a typical cell phone battery.
Replacing the battery in the Treo 600 can be done, but it entails opening the case and I think you’d need torx drivers for this. AFAIK, once open, it is just a case of unplugging the old one and fitting a new one; there doesn’t appeat to be soldering involved.
