I’ve been searching the net for a website with info regarding “The Lil’ bits” cartoon, on Nickelodeon, back in the late 80’s. So far I’ve had minimal luck. This is all in a (thus far vain) attempt to recapture my daughters’ childhoods, since my own seems out of reach.
Ideally I’d like some episode synopsis info along with pictures, but I’ll take what I can get.
Note that this is not the more recent “lil bits” cartoon, featuring a lot of multi-ethnic kids. This one featured very tiny people with name like Willie Bit and Millie Bit having various outlandish adventures. It usually ran right before or after “David the Gnome”.
Qadgop, in attempting to recapture your daughters’ childhoods, you’ve reminded me of a piece of mine I’d totally forgotten! (I did remember “David the Gnome”, though.)
I watched David the Gnome a lot. I can’t say I really liked it, as it was not your typical Anvil/Mallet etc cartoon. To that extent, each episode seemed to be nearly identical. -This comming from a guy who was still amazed by Inspector Gadget long after the knew the recurring plot of that show, but did not recognize it.
-Also the fox was named swift. Why on earth I remember that, I don’t know… That and two bucks can get me a cup of tap water at starbucks.
Maybe I can get elfbabe to start a “David the Gnome” appreciation thread. She’s accumulated quite a few videotape episodes over her teen years, to relive her early years.
When I asked about her reaction to the “littl’ bits” website though, all she’d say was “Meh”.
