Title says it all. My current leather has a lining which is tearing out and the zipper is ripping off for the second time. Buying from Leather Limited was not a good idea if I wanted a long-lasting leather jacket I guess.
Where can I get a sturdy, very warm leather or wool 3/4 length jacket? Is it possible for 300 or less?
I recommend Sierra Trading Post at http://www.sierratradingpost.com/Mens-Clothing.html
My husband, son and I buy a lot from them. We’ve been happy with every item we’ve purchased. They deal in overstocks from upscale manfacturers. Their quality is super and their prices are low. The site had a lot of men’s coatss

I see that awesome duster, but it’s $500. I freekin’ love that store, but their prices kill me.

Thats the part that sucks, having millionaire taste on a modest budget. Once or twice a year I treat myself to something nice from them. Their button down shirts and jackets are extremely durable, and well made. I have a belt I wear daily I bought from them in 2000…I dunno if you know anything about belts worn by men, but thats damn good compared to a TJ MAX or Kohls belt which wears out after a year at best.

There’s no beating their quality or style, and I believe their stuff is worth every penny. I just don’t have enough pennies!!! Damn me and my lack of pennies!

Yuo should be able to have the coat relined and the zipper replaced for well under $300 - probably closer to $100-150.

The problem is that while the coat felt heavy, it was never really that warm. It also has one of those zip-out thinksulate lining which has always been a pain as well. I’d much rather get a nice coat and retire this one.
For 50 bucks, it seemed like a steal. Well, the quality is sub-par (the leather is nice enough, but the lining is not thick, the pockets sit too low, and the zipper is very stubborn). So I am returning it, and I will continue to look around.
Any more advice would be welcome. Especially recommendations for specific coats.
I think the original jacket I have is from WIlson’s leather. I’m disinclined from going there, simply because most of their stuff seemed to have a cheap feel to it, and wasn’t as warm as its weight would seem to indicate.
