I need anonymous sympathy (TMI)

The chest cold that allowed me to be functional during business hours, so I wouldn’t miss work, but knocked me unconscious from Friday through Sunday morning, has now triggered diarrhea. Because I was too asleep to eat for 24 hours. Oh, and my menstruation started at the same time as the cold. Two weeks early.
F*ck you, body.
Just give me a seizure already :frowning:

Aaargh. You have my complete sympathy. May the things that are supposed to be liquid and the things that are supposed to be solid get that way and stay that way.

anonymus sympathy away!

I usually get a short bout of diarrhea with the start of my period, but I’m guessing you’re talking about something a bit more extreme than a bad morning.

It’s amazing how much our bodies can suck.

Ugh, for me it was migraines and breakthrough bleeding that led to me stopping my pill, leading to a period. And that period screwed up my attempt to donate blood last week. You have my sincere sympathies.

Wow, I really sympathise with that one. This month my cramps were really bad… I can’t imagine having the poops on top of it. I brought a microwavable heating pad to work last week and popped Advil. Advil is my buddy.

I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks  I knew I could count on the dope.

A Poll:

When bedridden, is it better to be:
A. Sick to the point of perpetual unconsciousness
B. Just well enough to watch Hulu

Asleep. Definitely unconscious.

You have my sympathies. Despite getting the flu shot, I managed to find a different strain of flu that knocked me flat for a week, complete with a complementary asthma attack (almost bad enough to send me to the ER) and vertigo. I was not up to sitting up in a chair for several days, so when conscious I listened to podcasts of The News From Lake Wobegon and Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me.

Feel better, that’s an order!

My cold started the Wednesday before last. I was too sick to work Thursday, Friday, and Monday, but managed to work Tuesday through Friday. I thought I was getting better yesterday, but it feels like I am starting to get a different cold, but fortunately not secondary bronchitis. I want to be well again. I don’t currently have my period, instead, I have mittlesmertz instead. More painful, less troublesome.

You have my sympathies. What I hate most about having a cold, my period, and diarrhea at the same time (as you do now, and I did last month) is how each cough is an adventure. Will I wet myself, shit myself, or will there just be a deluge of blood so heavy it overwhelms an overnight kotex? Thank goodness I could work from home.

Don’t upper respiratory ailments usually kill pullets?

No fun! Sending get-well thoughts your way!

Hey Pullet! We’re all going out to get 'faced and go dancing! Get yer shoes on!

What?

Oh. OK, maybe next time, then…

:stuck_out_tongue:

May I suggest a shower?

Oh, and yes, sympathy… Sorry.

[bolding mine]; I read that as soiled, and was  at your advice. It was quite the mental image.

B here. I want to be aware enough to enjoy being doted on and taken care of.

Hope you feel better soon.

Halfway between a and b. Sleepy enough to be spared much of the misery. Awake enough to occassionally watch super long compilation tapes.

Shower, sympathy, chicken noodle soup, and tea. That’s what you need. Possibly tissues as well, if you’re coughing up Chest Crud.

Harmonious Dischord: Uncool :frowning:

New experience to add to my list of life accomplishments: Cleaning up after coughing so hard that I vomited, I blow my nose and expel a chunk of chewed food.

Fck you, body. Fck. you.

A folk remedy for diarrhea is shredded coconut and/or coconut milk.

Holy crap, I think I have the same thing you do! Several days of escalating coughing followed by throwing up. I spent most of the day in bed drifting in and out of consciousness. This is a weird one.

On the upside, my inlaws are visiting! So now I have the perfect excuse to not spend time with them!

Heh. Me, I’d be tempted to spend a lot of time with them, if I thought I was contagious…
