I need drinking quotes...stat.

I’ve decided on my husband’s Xmas present.

A custom t-shirt from Spreadshirt .

The front of it will be in German:

Ich bin hier.
Lassen sie die
Partei anfangen

I am here.
Let the
Party begin. according to altavista. Any corrections are appreciated.
I cannot decide what to put on the back side of the shirt. There is limited space, so really wordy quotes - especially when translated to german - are not going to cut it.

I was thinking of just having it say ** Bier Therapie**

Or , because you can rotate the text, having it say something like If you can read this, buy me a beer and call me a cab. ( in german, naturally.)
Or, The More I drink, the funnier you become.

Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

Beer is proof that god loves us and wants us to be happy. ben franklin

now would be a good time for beer. FDR

Beer make life good- Me

I just thought of another one:

Beer: Created in Egypt, perfected by Germans

Likely to lose a great deal when translated out of English, but:

“They who drink beer, think beer.”

Washington Irving

This gets a bit wordy when translated. damn germans.

There’s a whole bunch of German language quotes related to beer here.

Stumbled over it while looking for a small German quadrain which tells you which order to drink beer and wine in.

There is no such thing as one beer.

Can a bird fly with only one wing?

I received a homemade shirt with half a maple leaf conjoined with half a beer mug. I claimed to be the emblem of the Canadian Beer Drinkers Alliance. I’m quite proud of that one. Maybe you should create the German Ale Swillers Society or the Society for the Libations of Uber Teutonics.

How about: This T-Shirt is all my wife got me for Christmas (on the front)

On the back… Next year she gets bugger all

Excess on occasion is exhilarating. It prevents moderation from acquiring the deadening effect of a habit.
W. Somerset Maugham

This, in German, would require a T-shirt the size of a king size duvet cover

Beauty is in the eye of the beerholder.

The Star-Spangled Banner was a drinking song before it was our national anthem.

You don’t buy beer, you only rent it.

Okay, German native speaker here, just need to clarify.

The quote at the start, is it meant to be a funny/bad translation? Am I just not getting the joke?

As it reads now, it says,
** I am here** (in a slightly stiilted way)
Let (using the formal imperative you) the
Political Party start

If you want it in correct German, it should read
"Hier bin ich.
Lass die
Party anfangen!"

If I’m being thickheaded in not understanding the joke, i sincerely apologize, but I didn’t want him running around with an unintentionally odd/funny translation.

I’d rather have a bottle in front of me than have a frontal lobotomy.

No kidding.

The liver is evil. It must be punished.

To paraphrase Homer Simpson: Here’s to beer: the cause of, and solution to, all of life’s problems.

On a scale from 1-100 ( one being the lowest to 100 being fluent) regarding German language, I am probably a 35 , depending on who is speaking and if there is alcohol involved. All this from zero German Lessons in my life!

I was also using Altavisa Babel fish translator. <-----I blame them.
