I am here.
Let the
Party begin. according to altavista. Any corrections are appreciated.
I cannot decide what to put on the back side of the shirt. There is limited space, so really wordy quotes - especially when translated to german - are not going to cut it.
I was thinking of just having it say ** Bier Therapie**
Or , because you can rotate the text, having it say something like If you can read this, buy me a beer and call me a cab. ( in german, naturally.)
Or, The More I drink, the funnier you become.
I received a homemade shirt with half a maple leaf conjoined with half a beer mug. I claimed to be the emblem of the Canadian Beer Drinkers Alliance. I’m quite proud of that one. Maybe you should create the German Ale Swillers Society or the Society for the Libations of Uber Teutonics.
Okay, German native speaker here, just need to clarify.
The quote at the start, is it meant to be a funny/bad translation? Am I just not getting the joke?
As it reads now, it says,
** I am here** (in a slightly stiilted way) Let (using the formal imperative you) the Political Party start
If you want it in correct German, it should read "Hier bin ich.
Lass die
Party anfangen!"
If I’m being thickheaded in not understanding the joke, i sincerely apologize, but I didn’t want him running around with an unintentionally odd/funny translation.
On a scale from 1-100 ( one being the lowest to 100 being fluent) regarding German language, I am probably a 35 , depending on who is speaking and if there is alcohol involved. All this from zero German Lessons in my life!
I was also using Altavisa Babel fish translator. <-----I blame them.
