Hello,

With the approval of the administration and moderators I would like to ask for some assistance this holiday: Christmas 2019.

I have been battling stress and depression for a couple of years and have been off work, living on savings. I’ve been in a good place for many months now and have been job hunting for about six months with no luck. I’ve had a couple of interviews, but nothing yet.

I just picked up some part time seasonal work at a provincial liquor store (LCBO) but it’s not enough to cover the bills this month.

Any assistance you great folks could provide would be more than greatly appreciated. My kids are 22 and 20 now, but I’d still like to do a little something for them.

And listen, I know this is begging for help. If you don’t agree with my request, then please ignore it and move on. I don’t want to be pitted because I’m looking for help.

Leaffan, have you investigated whether there are any food banks or food pantries in the vicinity?

Our local power company (Northern California) offers discounted service for those who meet their income criteria.

I believe it is possible to get discounted internet service based on income, although I’m less certain about that one.

It sounds like you’re emerging from this down period in your life. Depression is no joke. Good luck to you.

I just had 2 rejected, which work for other things. I will get it through somehow.
