I need help finding a quality wallet

I have always purchased Bosca wallets in the past and they last about five years. Unfortunately, this go around, they seem to no longer make my beloved L-Fold wallet.

I cannot fathom adapting to a new style of wallet, so I turn to you, brave fighters of ignorance. Where can I find a quality leather L-fold wallet? The wallets I find at department stores only last about 6-8 months.

Please SDMB, you’re my only hope.

Thank you much for the try, Astro, but that is a billfold with an ID flap.

This is the only other L fold I can find

That is rather nice looking. I do really appreciate your searches. I’ve been doing the same over here on my end.

You wonderful Doper, you. Your link gave me another search term that I never knew of. The flip fold wallet. My search begins anew!

I bought a nice L-fold wallet for my bf for christmas this year from Kenneth Cole. It was a little cheaper than the Bosca wallets you linked in your OP, and very high quality. I can’t seem to find it on their website, but they may still be in stores if you have a Kenneth Cole store near you.

I’ve had my fossil wallet for a number of years and it seems pretty durable.

While it does have an ID window, it appears to be a true L-fold wallet?

I love Coach - kinda pricey, but their leather good last for years, even in jeans.

Very nice and I do like the mahogany finish. The configuration is almost identical to my current wallet. I think we have a winner!

My thanks to all.

May I ask a related question?

Do you (wallet-carriers) want your wallet to have a coin pouch? Why or why not?

I pretty much require one: I can’t keep track of coins otherwise. But they’re nearly impossible to find.

I hate trendy crap, but I gotta tell ya that the Tommy Hilfiger wallet I bought years ago is one tough cookie. It shows virtually no signs of wear, other than the leather becoming buttery.

My husband has had his Coach water buffalo calfskin wallet for about 15 years now. I think he got it as a high school graduation gift. The corners are a little roughed up, but it’s held up beautifully over the years.

Ghurka makes excellent wallets. Check them out.

Personally, I prefer not having one. It makes the thickness of the wallet too variable. I keep my change in my front pocket.

Nope, makes it even more too-thick than it already is.

Although, to be fair, my solution usually ends up being “just don’t carry coins”, which may or may not be a solution for any particular individual.

I’m with Mr. Dorkness. I’m tired of having loose change fall out of my wallet every time I pull it out. I spend half my time at cash registers picking coins off the floor.

Like this?

I like having them, not because I carry coins there, that is what a front change pocket is for, but sometimes I find them useful for small, easy to loose items, such as medications, small keys that I don’t hold onto long enough to attach to my keyring, or the supermarket loyality and spyware keyring barcodes.

Nope. I hate carrying coins and get rid of them at the first opportunity. I don’t even carry bills in my wallet, only credit cards, ID and such. Money goes in a money clip in my front pocket.
