I need some high-energy music to help me work out

I have a new resolution to work out three times a week, and just bought a new iPod to help me with this goal. I find it nearly impossible to work out without music; my brain needs something to focus on while my body does its thing. I have a select number of songs that I usually play while working out, but I get tired of them if I hear them too many times. So I need more music, preferably fast-paced and high energy; my favorite genre is rock. I like music by Fall out Boy, Green Day, the Offspring, Dropkick Murphy’s, etc. What do you guys have for me?

The most awesome workout song ever is the theme from Jonny Quest, as covered by the Reverend Horton Heat.

This is my workout playlist from iPod (about 20 minutes):

Song 2 - BLUR
Parallel Universe - RHCP
Fade Away - STEREO MC’s
Brianstorm - ARCTIC MONKEYS
Bombtrack - RATM
Attaboy - LIQUID SOUL

I like that you have Fall Out Boy on your list, Stauderhorse, because “Dance, Dance” is on my workout list too. Maybe some of the others will grab you too, then?

Here’s part of my list:

Finger Eleven “Falling On” / “Paralyzer
Triggerfinger “All This Dancin’ Around
People In Planes “Last Man Standing
The Rapture “No Sex For Ben
K-OS “Uptown Girl
Silversun Pickups “Panic Switch
Bloc Party “The Prayer
Omnisoul “Not Giving Up
Shiny Toy Guns “Ricochet
Sleater-Kinney “Dance Song '97
Mechanical Moth “Black Queen Style
Jack Off Jill “Star No Star” / “Fear of Dying
Black Lab “She Loves Me
The Submarines “1940 (Amp Remix)”

Any of the X-Games compilation albums are really good.
You can sample all of the tracks from them on Amazon.

Remembered from a spinning class years ago, the instructor used to play these during the fast-pedaling sections:

“Walking on Sunshine” by Katrina and the Waves
“Just a Girl” by No Doubt

When you say high powered, The Power is On by The Go Team springs to mind.

…I know you like rock I am the same way but the best music to get you going is seriously techno sense you like the harsher beats in music I would suggest pendulum, infected mushroom and scryllics especially the" get it up" song (they did it with korn awesome song) now if you like more softer beats and a little bit more soft tones , deadmou5, and daft punk are good options …trust me you will love how it completly changes the way you work out

This might have a bit more dance, hip hop and electronica than you might want:
Bad Apples - Winter Storm [Paul Oakenfold Club Mix]
The Black Keys - I Got Mine
Black Lab - This Blood
Bloc Party - Halo
The Chemical Brothers - Galvanize
The Crystal Method - Weapons of Mass Distortion
The Crystal Method - Roboslut
Chiddy Bang - Opposite of Adults
David Guetta - Where the Girls At
CSS - Alala
Eminem - Not Afraid
Eminem - WTP
Foo Fighters - Bridge Burning
The Heavy - How You Like Me Now
Japandroids - The Boys Are Leaving Town
Kanye West - Power
Linkin Park - The Catalyst
LMFAO - Party Rock Antham
Panic at the Disco - The Ballad Of Mona Lisa
A Perfect Circle - Outsider [Apocalypse Remix]
Them Crooked Vultures - Gunman
Tool - Forty Six & 2
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Zero

May I suggest the works of Van Halen? I have found that this music makes a workout go faster.

Sinners’ Swing
Hear about it Later
Unchained
5150
Little Guitars
Hang 'Em High
Romeo Delight
Out of Love
Light Up The Sky
I’m the One
Panama
Big Fat Money
Cabo Wabo

Blaqk Audio- Stiff Kittens
Deathstars- White Wedding
Emilie Autumn- Chambermaid (Celtic Mix)
Panic! at the Disco- There’s a Good Reason These Tables Are Numbered
NIN/David Bowie- I’m Afraid of Americans
The Distillers- Seneca Falls
Placebo- English Summer Rain
Ke$ha- We R Who We R (Don’t judge me! It’s got a good beat!)
The Exies- My Goddess
Hole- Celebrity Skin
OK Go- It’s a Disaster
silverchair- Freak (Remix for Us Rejects)
A Skylit Drive- Eva the Carrier
Pretty Handsome Awkward- the Used
And a lot, lot more. But those are some of my faves. I use it more for lifting/toning than cardio, but they’re all high energy, good strong beat.

Wow, am I old! I don’t think I’ve heard of any of these.

Though I’d probably know them if I heard them. But not the names.

You need to add some Butthole Surfers to your playlist

The Prodigy - Smack My Bitch Up

Mystikal - Here I Go

The Electric Six - Gay Bar

This may not be your cup of tea, but here is part of one of my playlists for when I run:

“Your Love is My Drug” - Kesha
“TiK ToK” - Kesha
“Take It Off” - Kesha
“Blah Blah Blah” - Kesha
“Party at a Rich Dude’s House” - Kesha
“Backstabber” - Kesha
“Dinosaur” - Kesha
“Animal” - Kesha
“Cannibal” - Kesha
“We R Who We R” - Kesha
“Blow” - Kesha
“Crazy Beautiful Life” - Kesha
“Grow a Pear” - Kesha
“VIP” - Kesha
“Fuck Him He’s a DJ” - Kesha
“31 Seconds Alone” - Kesha
“Heart Fall Out” - Kesha
“Disgusting” - Kesha

Hmmm. I could see a song like “The Other Side” working, but not so much “The Island Part One: Dawn.”

I’m tempted to make a new playlist out of songs that people have suggested here that I already have on my hard drive. Ke$ha and Blaqk Audio on the same playlist would be different.

Smoke Over Water by Deep Purple (played at MAX volume) may be helpful too.

Soil - Halo

Guns n Roses - Don’t Damn Me

Korn - Here to Stay
