I passed my learners! That makes me happy. VERY happy. So happy, in fact, that I actually hugged, like, 5 people!
I got 3 questions wrong out of 50. thats like, I dunno, 85%?*(highest mark I’ve ever gotten!)
AND, my picture isn’t absolutely horrible either! This makes me even HAPPYER.
I don’t know why I’m hyper. I mean, this happened yesterday (
1 58pm) and yet… I’m still ecstatic. Everyone ELSE I know who got thier learners didn’t make such a big deal about it… but oh well.
Now, I have to wait until september and I can get my REAL drivers! sigh. I’m so happy.
Also, be sure to learn all the appropriate hand signals for when you need to communicate with other drivers. It may help you to know that the same gesture can be used to say “Asshole!” “Shithead!” and “Moron!”.
Congrats! Now, remember, when you get your license, make sure not to carry more friends in your car than it can safely hold – that way you all will have a better chance of living to sneer at teenage drivers 25 years from now!
Whoo! Now, go get drunk and drive up to dead Man’s Curve!
(under no circumstances even think of getting behind the wheel of a car if you’ve been drinking.)
We don’t have a dead mans curve here. And I would NEVER dream of driving under the influence… we’ve had too many drunk driving incidents in Yellowknife. Plus, we have about 20 anti-drunkdriving programs here. My conscience wouldn’t allow me to.
If you think there is no Dead Man’s Curve, you’re loony. Drive to Rae - remember how twisty it is? Every curve has a lake beside it, and no guard rail.
[bEvery** curve is a Dead Man’s Curve. Every single one. And the straights too. Driving is dangerous. Constant vigilance! Insurance premia for young people are high for a very good reason.
Yeah… But I won’t drive to Rae. Why would I want to go there? I mean really. Its probably smaller then where Gramma and Grampa live. And thats saying something.
Congrats! My sister (who is nearly 20) finally got her learners permit this week, and she’s already driving a lot. Up until recently, she had no deisre to drive, though I think my parents managed to convince her (read: force) after many years of chauffeuring her around!
I know I couldn’t wait to get my license, and I still love driving, even with a 45minute to 1 hour commute every day to school and work!
Yes, antie… scary thought, isn’t it?
And Garius, I actually might be going to Scotland next year for a school trip. I figure I could start practicing then.
