I passed the Texas Bar Exam!

Hooray!

The results came out earlier than I thought they would. While I still have to be formally sworn in, I’m now for all practical purposes licensed in two states, New York and Texas.

Now all I need is a job.

New York Dopers who would like to buy me a drink are encouraged to drop me an email.

Oh, Lord. Not another damn Texas lawyer.

Congrats, man.

Robin

Congrats. The more we Illum. . . errrr lawyers get involved in every aspect of society, the better.

ppg_shg, who is a friend of mine, and plays in numerous SDMB Dip games is a Dallas lawyer. Perhaps he can give you a job hunting assist.

You do securities and M&A work, right?

congratulations.

now send me $20 dollars for the voodoo spell I cast on the examiners that got you through.

Ok, $10 will do.

Congrats Dewey. That’s great news! Let us know when we can buy you that drink in Houston as well.

Yes. Let me know if you want me to shoot you a resume.

Woohoo! Yay for you!! Here’s hoping for a swift end to your job hunt, too!

Boys, git a rope.

Hey! There’s no Dewey Cheatem Undhow listed on the results page! I think you’re makin’ it up!

Good job, and good luck.

Congrats!

Very warm congratulations, counselor!

Regards,
Shodan

I am continuing with the Divine Intervention about your job search.

Congratulations, my confrère!

Reading the thread title, I thought: huh? You hadn’t passed the bar yet. The OP cleared that up. Good work, man!

Dewey, the next time that the New York Dopers are planning to officially get together is on Tuesday, May 20, when Gazelle (formerly from Hell) is coming to town. If you join us, I’d be happy to buy you a drink.

Free drinks! W00t!

Yep, he’s a lawyer, alright!
Congratulations!

Congrats, Dewey, If I ever commit…er…am falsely accused of a crime in Texas I know who to call.

Law? In Tejas?!

Well, enjoy making it up as you go along!

Have you got the hat yet?

Y’know, back when I was a law student summer clerking at the NYC firm which until recently was my employer, we had to share office space with other summer associates. The gal I was paired with was from Long Island, born and bred, and hadn’t really lived anywhere outside of the NYC area. She had read on the summer associate bio sheet that I was from Texas. She was really disappointed when I walked into the office – she really expected the whole boots and hat and belt buckle combo.

I tried to use “y’all” around her whenever I could, just so I wouldn’t be a total letdown.

Congratulations, counselor!

Now, which was harder, Texas or NY?

Well, of course you did–you’re a Baylor J.D., right?

Congrats!
