The Pit rules have changed so often, it’s tough for Old Schoolers to even keep track. (Why just the other day, GFactor was kind enough to remind me of the rules when I dropped an f-bomb on someone in my own inconsequential thread.)
So the Pit can’t really be the Pit anymore. We’ve lost a lot of the classic pit ranters, and as we know, MPSIMS can’t handle MPSIMS without having to spin off the occasional new forum to please the gamers or the entertainment junkies or what have you. It was just a matter of time before the MPSIMS tards invaded and gained a foothold here.

Do you live in a world where 13-year-old girls don’t say “fuck” a lot? In my experience, “fuck” is just about the favorite word of 13-year-old girls.
The current incarnation of the Pit is pretty much representative of everything that is wrong with the world today. You all are like that little old lady who is on the Condo Association board that spends her days peeking out of her curtains (lace, mind you) just looking for someone who’s door is painted just the wrong shade of white or who dares to show a scrap of fire or individuality so that she can write a stern letter and have items in the newsletter.
Like her, there are places that you can go that are better suited to your tender sensibilities. You could go back to MPSIMS and drink your ginger ale punch spiked with orange sherbet and talk about how your ass won’t fit into your bathing suits and how some meenie cut in front of you at line (and what you would have said to him, by golly, if you weren’t such a smart oh so wonderful person). But Noooooo! The very fact that places exist that are not tidy and tend towards anarchy makes you clutch your peals and wet your pants. You have to come in and tidy things up (for the good of all!) and click on that report post button like a fucking syphilitic rat at a feeder bar. You people and all that you stand for disgust me.

If only I had made a vow to myself when I joined this board that I would put a dollar in a jar on my desk every time I saw one of those “the ole SDMB, she ain’t what she used to be” threads, then I would be waltzing off to the Apple store right now to buy myself an iPod touch instead of staring at a small-screened 3-year-old fifth-generation iPod.

Seriously, the Pit just isn’t the place it used to be. I skim it, but it does seem MPSIMey. Too many rule changes, I guess. No biggie to me, although I miss the good pits.
I don’t see why people keep getting worked up about what “belongs” in the Pit. Don’t like it? Don’t read it. It’s that simple (like me, I guess).
And if I had a nickel for every time you posted one of these faux-humorous observations dismissing any perceived complaint, criticism or questioning of the board or its staff as routine and uninteresting, I’d probably have enough to hire someone to shove that iPod up your ass. Alas, 20/20 hindsight, and all that.
I’m not simply wishing for the good ole days of yesteryear, I’m responding to a recent and sudden change in the tone and content of nearly all threads in the Pit. Because it bugs me, I’m using the Pit for its intended purpose and airing my grievance with those who have taken advantage of the rule changes to (IMO) misuse it as a second MPSIMS forum. If you don’t like it, please feel free to go suck farts out of a dead dog’s asshole.

While I will freely admit to occasionally posting knee-slapping witticisms to complaints that I think are silly and unfounded, if I think an issue is worth discussing seriously, I will answer with reasons why I disagree with the poster. In this case, I thought the complaint was silly, so I answered with a silly post. I really doubt you could find more than a handful of these types of posts from me over the past 2 or 3 years - meaning a post where someone complains about the board or its staff, and instead of addressing the complaint, I content myself with posting a joke dismissing the complaint.
You know what? I think I’ll pass on your suggestion.

The lack of candor and color can’t be blamed on your stereotype of a little old lady who wants to be in everyone’s business. I seem to recall that the rule was made by a male who believes that some words are “bad.” It’s his call to make.
This little old lady ranted and raved about the rules change. We former flower children are not as fucked up about language as some other generations and those our age with other lifestyles. We’re becoming those little old ladies too. We all pretty much look about the same with some exceptions.
I thought everybody knew Arnold Winkelried prefers blowing into dead dogs’ assholes. It is Gfactor who then sucks them.
Doesn’t any non-stupid person already know that it is universally* accepted as bad that the Pit “ain’t what it used to be”?
