I Pit "Cafe Society" people

Oh, it is. I’m going to be using some this weekend to liven up some apple-roasted pork tenderloins

Agreed! I want to buy some so that I can replicate it. Hmmm…

Yeah, drool.

You’re at it again, the food hype thing

“Pho sucks”

“I hate gravy that is incorrect”

“Salted caramel sucks”

“You dont know what authentic tacos….. “

(tents fingers)
Excellent

This reminds me of the best Jewish deli I ever frequented: Corky and Lenny’s in Cleveland Heights. Their chopped chicken liver sandwich was da bomb—silky, onion-sweet, just enough schmaltz to make you forget your cardiologist’s warning.

The rest of the menu was a festival of deli greatness: towering corned beef and pastrami sandwiches on rye, matzo ball soup with basketball-size matzo balls, knishes that could double as catcher’s mitts, latkes crisped to golden perfection, smoked whitefish, lox and bagels, rugelach, and giant dill pickles.

I was devastated to learn they finally closed in 2023—67 years of corned-beef glory gone—though I haven’t set foot in Cleveland for forty years. Time flies, but the memory of that chopped chicken liver sandwich make me want to time-travel back to Cedar Center.

Dammit, I haven’t had chopped chicken liver in decades and now I want some! When I lived in Boston there was a sandwich shop downtown where I could get a damn fine chopped chicken liver sandwich.

Just mustard and horseradish sauce for condiments on a Rueben
