How do they feel about trans men? Is it the same hatred or do the women “pretending to be men” get a pass for some reason?
The TERF position is usually that trans men are just women who hate being women so much because misogyny is sooooo bad that no woman in her right mind would want such a fate. And they always regret transitioning later.

At the most extreme ends of TERF-dom, there are women arguing that all transwomen are actively part of a plot by men to eliminate the concept of women’s rights, and all transmen are the unwitting victims of a plot by men to eliminate the concept of lesbians.
So they really think that some men willingly change their gender to female in order to undermine the women’s rights movement?

I suspect by having a rational discussion of this community, we are telling less rational members of the board to go fuck off by extention. 
Well, not just that. They also change their gender so that they can peep on women in locker rooms, and to compete against them in sports.

It’s really quite a simple mindset:
Women = good
Men = bad
Men changing to women = really men = bad
Women changing to men = traitors = bad

Often they’ll do a variation on this (which is what DemonTree tends to use). They’ll argue there maybe are some men who legitimately think they are actually women, but that there will also obviously be men who would fake it for those purposes.
It doesn’t matter when we point out that, if they wanted to do that, they could have already, since no one tends to check. And there are no tells with trans women that couldn’t also apply to cis women.
(Granted, in sports they do check. But then that also eliminates the potential problem).
In short, the evidence is against what they are scared of actually happening. It’s a fairly typical bigoted pattern—see also being scared gay people are out to convert them (or are actually pedophiles) and assuming black people are criminals (or out to rape white women). They have to find a way to argue that the minority is actually a threat to the majority to justify mistreatment.
