The problem is stupidity – there’s a lot of it around, and there’s a culture of stupidity that promulgates it; a culture that says that media is all about ad revenues and therefore sensationalism, a culture that says that “money is speech” and that moneyed speech is more important than truth. Don’t blame Frank Stallone, blame the Kochs and the Mercers, the Steve Bannons and Rogers Ailes and the Hannitys and the Trumps and all the gun nuts and all their enablers.
