The only time I was personally subjected to a hate crime was at the hands of White American Evangelical Conservatives. They were infuriated that, after accusing me of being a “liberal” in the most venomous tones of voice, they were unable to answer my queries about what exactly the word “liberal” meant, and how exactly it was that I fit into that category, and so they subjected me to potentially fatal head wounds instead.
I will admit to being indirectly, impersonally affected by the violence of 9/11. However, I think Muslim countries tend to be weak and disorganized (even Saudi Arabia’s oil power is being undermined by alternative energy trends). The greatest threat in the world today is actually American evangelicals, because they have the potential to sway the American political system in its favor (I read that 4/5 of evangelicals are voting for Trump), and therefore pose the most real risk of sparking WWIII through infecting the most powerful nation in the world with ignorant hatred. I have seen it myself as up close and personal as is possible without being killed.
Muslim countries are weak, they get conquered or spontaneously fall all on their own all the time. Suicide attacks are the hallmark of defeated peoples- the IJA didn’t resort to them until all was lost, for example. Evangelicals are the real threat. Wake the fuck up.

I’d pit Islam too as it is written in the koran and hadiths. It contains some pretty horrific ideas and appeals to the supernatural that I think are inherently problematic. Just like many other religions and belief systems. I’d happily pit many of the teachings in the torah/bible as well.
Muslims on the other hand (and people of most faiths) tend to be decent people but that is despite what their scriptures say rather than because of it. (luckily they don’t believe it all or follow it all or consider it the immutable word of god)

There’s nothing special about Islam. The fact that American Muslims are generally more peaceful and tolerant than American evangelical Christians is proof of this. There might be a disparate statistical correlation with Muslims internationally and some bad things, including terrorism, but the vast majority of Muslims are not involved in terrorism, and are no threat to America at all. And this disparate statistical correlation was not always true – in the late middle ages, it was probably much safer to be a Jew in Islamic regions than in Christian Western Europe.
Further, broad-brushing all Muslims and tarring them with the crimes of a few hurts the fight against extremism. Not only are you a cowardly bigot who regularly spouts false things, DerekMichaels00, but you’re hurting America by repeating hateful rhetoric. To defeat extremist violence from Muslims, we need peaceful Muslims on our side, repudiating the extremists. If our leaders followed your rhetoric, they would all be against us – all 1.6 billion of them – and would never cooperate in rooting out the extremists among them.

False, it is a practice absent from most Islamic regions, and it is practiced essentially in the African regions from a north-east African transmission - where is both the Coptic / Orthodox christians and the muslims (egypt, ethiopia, etc) who equally practice at the nearly identical percentages. As Ramira notes, a lot of the more gruesome practices the OP suggests are intrinsic to Islam are more regional and cultural than religious, and many long pre-date Islam. Even now they are rarely exclusive to one religion, nor are they universally practised by Muslims worldwide. (It’s probably also worth noting that it wasn’t Muslims who “popularized” the use of suicide bombing as a political tool; it was factions of the Tamil Tigers in Sri Lanka who did so.)
We can argue about why certain regions of the world still engage in such backward practices, but it is certainly the case that the OP has yet to appear to be interested in a grown-up conversation about such things, instead preferring to froth about Muslims, transsexuals and women who don’t like short men, while fetishizing Churchill. He’s practically a pathological case study all on his own.

In the interests of fighting ignorance, it’s probably worth pointing out that the Churchill quote above was explicitly in reference to non-lethal tear gas, as is clear from the expanded quote below. He was a believer in the superiority of the white race; he didn’t advocate use of WMD on Iraqis. (Conventional bombing was just fine, of course.)
