I Pit Magiver

I see that Magiver is at it again. Just to recap his previous contributions, Magiver is an expert on all things aviation, a reigning authority on all NTSB accident investigations, expert on the alleged incompetence of foreign pilots as totally the sole cause of 737 MAX crashes, and recent expert on automobile driving safety (noting for our benefit that his own driving is perfect and he never makes mistakes).

He is now also apparently a medical expert over in the Biden prostate cancer thread, telling us exactly how Biden’s cancer could have been prevented. If only Magiver had been around giving advice to Biden’s doctors, all would be well! Tragically, no one ever thought to consult him.

I sort of picture Magiver looking like this as he gets frustrated, trying to tell everyone what they should be doing, if only he was consulted.

and other’s responses below there.

That is…unsettling.

I mostly remember his bizarre insistence, during COVID, that setting up or expanding temporary hospitals was a waste of resources and that there was no reason not to just airlift every patient that came into a full hospital to another hospital, even if it was across the country.

When asked about the logistics of having to supply medical personnel, planes and pilots for 4-8 hours (or more) per patient……..crickets, IIRC.

It’s a lot quicker and easier to do that if you can just drop the patients out on the plane on motorcycles as you fly past the hospital.

So now he’s actively shitting up the “CBS is ending ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’ next year” thread with logically baffling axe-grinding against the title subject. It’s not a hijack, exactly, but it’s wildly disruptive.

My social media has exploded with people claiming that CBS and The Late Show were financial zombies, and at worst Trump has pointed this out, causing the scales to fall out of the Board’s eyes.

Yeah, I noped out of that thread as soon as I saw The Magiver Show get started.

When will people realize that arguing with a dessicated dog turd is both more effective and more enjoyable than arguing with Magiver?

You know you are in good standing when you get unwittingly dragged into a Magiver thread.

He’s one of the few people on my ignore list.

He might be the stupidest person on this entire board.

That is a bold statement, but yeah, probably accurate.

I don’t know some times it’s amusing to see what epic conortions of logic and impossible scenarios he will come up with to avoid having to admit that he was wrong (e.g. military bases having parachuting motor cycles on stand by.)

I was just skimming that thread, and while I don’t normally like to engage in pile-ons, Magiver was really being a hugely annoying ass in that thread, to the point that he got mod-noted for his aggressive arguments.

Among his beliefs regarding the Colbert cancellation, “There’s no law that says CBS has to fund his political tyrades (sic)”. Guy can’t spell, either, but apparently any criticism of his Orange Hero is a “political tirade”! Yes, because – another direct quote – “Telecommunications companies are supposed to adhere to ethics standards”. Clearly, any criticism of Trump is “unethical”.

Until recently I just considered him arrogantly argumentative, but now I believe that this is true.

I seriously don’t understand why any of you continue to interact with him. In the active Epstein thread, he tried to veer the conversation away from Trump, but almost no one engaged with his bullshit.

Well, Gru Donnie & his Minions believe that.

I can think of at least one person stupider - but at least all they do is vociferously assert their parochial experiences as determinative and their homespun opinions as fact. Which personally I find easy to laugh at and ignore.

Magiver is more annoying because he’s a tragic Dunning-Kruger victim. He seems honestly able to convince himself that because he’s able to come up with a Mencken solution to problems smart people find intractable, he’s the smartest guy in the room and everyone else is a dope.

Well, that’s my memory of him - haven’t interacted with him in ages for obvious reasons.

There’s a commercial running on the radio for some state-sponsored program. “People like me aren’t addicts; that’s like saying people like me don’t get sick” Yet according to our illustrious pit subject people who take drugs have “mental capacity” issues & can apparently never get over them.

Yeah. That was classic peak Magiver. Although his other recent contributions in that thread fit the mold too.

I have blissfully little experience with Magiver, at least until this Jimmy Kimmel thread.

Yeah. Wow. Impressive. “Fighting ignorance” seems like it should dedicate a bespoke wing to this guy.
