Don’t make this thread a pile-on.
If by “sully” they mean “reinforce”, then yeah.
Don’t worry. The OP expresses a liberal douchebag sentiment, so there will not be a pile-on.
I pit you for thinking it’s funny, too.
From the article:
They get fired for being a bunch of violent thugs, and they respond by killing the guy who was offering them a second chance.
Also in the “inappropriate but funny headlines from India” category is this one: Two jawans, four militants killed in gun battle.
He might be aiming to piss off your loved ones, instead. If you have any.
I admit it. I don’t see anything funny about a mob of people beating a guy to death.
It wasn’t funny when the McDonald’s worker stabbed his female boss to death in England. It wasn’t funny any of the times in the US when fired workers go back and slaughter their bosses or co-workers. So please explain how this is remotely funny.
I’m an NRI (non-resident Indian) and I have to admit that I chuckled, too. A sort of gallows humor is necessary for survival.
However, this:
Struck a chord in my heart.
(At least I can say I was brought here as a child. Still won’t go back, though.)
Hey, look, everybody! A Rand fan who’s also an asshole! You sure don’t see that every day.
The man being beaten to death following the layoffs isn’t funny, it’s terrible. The statement from the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry is unintentionally pretty funny.
I IM’d my Indian co-worker and asked him if we should send the link to our boss.
He didn’t get it.
How is “death of boss = funny” a liberal sentiment, exactly? We don’t like guns, remember?
I would start calling you a conservative douchebag, but you’re not. You’re just a douchebag.
“Liberal?”
Entirely new depth of stupidity plumbed.
Pardon me for thinking this was funny.
It’s my goddamned monkey nature acting up again.
I… don’t see what’s funny either. I mean, it’s not not funny in a ‘that’s not funny’-way, but merely in a ‘I don’t get it’-way; death can be pretty funny, such as when a clown slips on a banana peel, but I just don’t see the joke here… Anybody care to explain?
I’ve wracked my brains, mentally gone over a whole slew of cheap puns, and I still don’t get it. What’s inappropriate or funny here?
Finally, someone who agrees with me.
“AP: The clown, Chadsworth Phartsalott, leaves behind two small children and a very large wife. At the time he was attempting to put the skin back on the bannana.”
I think it’s the irony of it that’s the issue. Not funny, ‘ha-ha’ … funny, ‘well isn’t that a hell of a thing’.
Fat-cat CEO controls the fate of the hoi-polloi, but the hoi-polloi swings it back and brings fat-cat CEO to his fate.
Not exactly Sheckey Green material, but irony is a tricky thing.
Sorry, forgot the important part: “Two jawans, four militants killed.” Tusken Raiders claim responsibility.
Oh good. Another “HAW HAW HAW liberuhls iz teh lame!” poster. We were in serious danger of running out.
