I pit over-the-top Anti-Trump hysteria

I think he’s pretending he didn’t hear you when you said you voted for Harris. Or maybe he’s just a loyal establishment Democrat who hates progressives, but has a “nuanced position” on genocide and fascism.

How hard would it have been to say “ we condemn the extremies of Israel’s actions, but believe these are aberrations that do not represent the will or policy of the Israeli people. We will continue to support our ally, Israel, and to use our influence to de-escalate conflict in the region.”

It would have been a lie, but a nice lie, and made it a little easier for people with a conscience to vote D.

Sure, Smapti. After you’re done defending Israel, you can tell us again about how Michael Brown was a criminal who got what he deserved, and all BLM protesters were violent rioters.

I have been very clear. I even read a couple of his Gish galloping wall-of-text posts.

I am not talking about who banquet bear voted for. I’m talking about the people who he is defending, who didn’t vote for Harris.

His inability to understand my point is very deliberate.

Pretending that if someone says “If you say [or do] X it results in Y”, the “you” cannot be a third person is just stupid. It’s a bog standard construction.

Improve your reading comprehension, that’s not what he said. Also, your passion about the voting habits of foreigners is approaching a fetish.

Good thing that isn’t happening, then.

And yet you sit here declaring they have no right to defend themselves.

Because I believe in democracy and civil liberties.

…then why are you talking about “crying like a babie?” And what does “thinking trumps logic” mean? Who is trying to “teach someone a lesson?”

None of this makes any sense.

Because the people in the video I shared aren’t “babies”. They weren’t trying to “teach anyone a lesson”. They were people that were seeing hundreds of people killed every single day in the most brutal of ways by bombs and bullets that were being paid for largely by the Biden administration. They wanted it to stop.

They made a choice. I think they made a wrong choice. A counterproductive choice. But I also think that winning them back will be relatively easy.

The Democrats should condemn Israel’s genocide in Gaza and should pledge to stop funding and supporting it.

That would be a reasonable position for the Dems to take, right? Because I think that genocide is bad. Do you think genocide is bad? I can’t really tell.

Hey, I don’t make the rules.

These “foreigners” are responsible for the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza and the ethnic cleansing in the West Bank. These “foreigners” took part in the assassination of nearly the entire Iranian leadership. These “foreigners” dropped a bomb on a girls’ school, murdering over a hundred little schoolgirls and they still haven’t admitted it or said sorry. These “foreigners” are holding one of our citizens, who was legally in your country, for no reason whatsoever in squalid, illegal conditions.

These “foreigners” have helped disrupt the worldwide markets and now things are almost unaffordable where I live. These “foreigners” are the reason why we are about to run out of fuel in just a few weeks.

These “foreigners” are helping Israel to expand their Gaza plan to Southern Lebanon. These “foreigners” are complicit in multiple warcrimes and atrocities and are committing a number of them themselves.

You don’t get to screw up the entire fucking world and then complain that someone on an internet messageboard has something to say about it. Pull your fucking head in already.

Sure, by all means, share your opinion on US politics here. Once, maybe twice. Kudos, then, for being an informed world citizen.

10 times a day, every day? Get a grip, man. And learn how to start a post with a letter instead of an ellipsis, it’s fucking annoying.

Wall-o-text from perpetually confused man, with er, limited, reading comprehension. What a surprise.

…I haven’t even been on these boards for months. Did you miss me that much? I’m touched.

Do you or do you not agree that President Biden and his administration funded and supported the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza?

Of course; any US President would. Just much less so than Trump.

You keep believing that if it makes it easier to sleep at night. I prefer to live on earth 1. They have been deliberately targeting civilians for a long time. The Idiotic vicious attack on Israeli civilians, just gave them Israelite government the green light to go all in on genocide.

Yes, I do.

…and I go spinning back in time to Catholic catechism in preparation for the sacrament of Confirmation, repeating the words spoken by my godparents at my baptism:

Do you renounce Satan?

I do renounce Satan.

And all his works?

And all his works.

And all his pomps?

Wait, what’s a pomp?

“Genocide” is not a synonym for “when a lot of people die in a war”. More civilians died in the bombing of Dresden than have died in the entire Gaza campaign over the last three years. Did the Allies commit genocide against Germany?

The fact of the matter is that if Israel WANTED to commit genocide, the war would have lasted about a month.

You don’t get to launch missiles off of the roof of a hospital and then claim “they’re deliberately targeting civilians!” when the enemy shoots back.

…so you would understand why some people, ESPECIALLY so-called “low information” voters, maybe working 50-60 hours a week just to survive, who were locked into an ecosystem of disinformation that was clearly pushing the message that “Trump was going to end the war”, may have ended up voting for him.

By Hera, I wish! It takes a high level of courage to oppose AIPAC, which is final-boss level. I’m going to cheer on to encourage anyone in Congress who dares it. I’m waiting.

Give them some agency. The people I know who sat out 2024 weren’t working 50-60 hours a week. They were college students, graduate students, young adults. Now TikTok was definitely a factor. “Gaza is burning” was completely ubiquitous for a few weeks, and then disappeared after the election.

Were they duped? Yes.
Do they admit they were duped? No.

It’s hard to admit you were an idiot. But refusing to do so makes you a bigger idiot.

Understandable, sure, but like I said, “understandable” can only support so much weight. No amount of understanding can mitigate the consequences of ill-advised choices.

…I am.

Do you or do you not agree that President Biden and his administration funded and supported the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza?

How is asking that over and over again relevant?

Especially when the alternative was supporting someone who would to the same thing with much greater enthusiasm. There was no meaningful “vote to oppose the genocide” option.
