I pit Pantsuits.

Is the OP this OP’s dad?

Plus, I can’t believe women still wear pantyhose in some places. It’s an anachronism around here- they quit wearing hose here any time of year long ago. It’s awesome.

I can understand jewelry and shoes, but is your makeup likely to get caught in the machinery? If so, i can only assume you are wearing too much.

Also, all of you ladies in bikinis that are too small, or in really really short skirts, or in cheerleader outfits and french maids, you look like hermaphrodites. Especially when you try to strike sexy poses. And maybe if you pretended to be in a ZZ Top video. That’s right. Now do a half turn, and look over your shoulder. And don’t even think about wearing a hooters outfit.

One is quite likely to get dirty and sweaty on the production floor, which makes makeup run. Personally, I think that makeup that has run and splotched looks far worse, and far less professional, than no makeup at all. Plus, if you try to wipe away the sweat and dirt, the makeup gets smeared around, with…interesting…results.

AK84, are you talking about pant suits like these??
Tahari by ASL Pinstripe Pant Suit
Tahari by ASL Flap-Pocket Notch-Collar Pant Suit

Because those look pretty nice, although I admit they probably only look good because they’re on skinny, pretty models. Also, I think those super-high heels look so stupid with pants.

Now I do agree that suits with skirts look more feminine, such as these gorgeous ensembles:
Calvin Klein Pinstriped One-Button Long Jacket & Pencil Skirt
Tahari 3-Button Round Collar Skirt Suit (This one is especially cute!)

Although, why are all skirts these days slightly above knee length? I’d love all my skirts to be about 3-4 inches below the knee, or even mid-calf or slightly above ankle length.

I’m still trying to figure out how its the OPs business to determine whether or not any woman he encounters is wearing something sufficiently feminine. If it’s comfortable to the woman, and acceptable in the place where she is, that’s all that matters. It’s not your business. Grow up, get a life and butt out.

Really bad thing about “rights” other people have them too. They have a right to wear something which looks unprofessional and I have a right to say that I think its is. Anjd you know what, those who look unprofessional usually are just that. Male and female.

But you’ve utterly failed to express what you mean by that. Do you really think that this looks unprofessional?

You look totally hot in that picture, dude.

Dang that looks classy. How could anyone hate on that?

Worse than naked.

You must have gone to the same School of Professional Dress that I attended. However, the “pantyhose at the office” thing died about 6 years ago. Pantyhose are considered “out” in office wear. Anyone under 40 thinks you’re goofy if you wear them at all. This bums me out to no end.

By the way, I find pantsuits (both the feminized ones and the ones that echo a masculine look) to be very professional.

I’m job hunting at the moment, and I’m astounded by how often I’m told I should wear hose to interviews. A temp agency that I considered signing with not only included hose in the dress code, but the agent made a point of mentioning it (and I was wearing pants at the time, so it’s not as though she was telling me because I was wearing a skirt without hose).

I love skirts, but pantyhose are the work of the devil and I have no truck with Satan, so pants it is.

I think you should wear a skirt with knee high panty hose to the interviews.
Classy!

You are SOOO Vogue. (Strike a pose)

In my home town’s above-40C-summers, aye. Actually, the only thing that’s comfortable at those times is hiding in a house in the old part of town… you know, the ones with meter-thick walls?

I feel nekkid without hose when I wear a skirt. I don’t get it, don’t like it, and won’t do it. I don’t find pantyhose uncomfortable at all. I know I’m in the minority there.

The “demise” of hose is based on fake tanning, people under 40 whose legs look pretty good, and the prevalence of business casual over professional dress. Is fake tanning less of a pain than pantyhose? I am unconvinced. And if those folks are still bare legged at 40+, when they’ve advanced in their careers, I’ll be surprised. Not that I don’t await the demise of hose, but I don’t believe it’s really dead.

I don’t think it has anything to do with fake tanning, I see plenty of pasty white legs around. I think it has more to do with the fact that pantyhose are uncomfortable, expensive, and pretty friggin’ silly when you think about it. What on earth is inherently “more professional” about simulated skin?

The fact that all Fortune 500 women leaders have to wrestle nylons in the bathroom is just one more reason why I will never head up a fortune 500 company.

That, and the small fact I have zero qualifications or desire to run a 500 company.
