I Pit Sevastopol 88 - Heil Hitler!

You’re advocating genocide by means of an extremely aggressive military policy, and you really ought to be ashamed of yourself.

GENOCIDE: (noun) the deliberate and systematic destruction of a racial, political, or cultural group. (Merriam-Webster)

It would appear that PaulFitzroy is in fact advocating genocide, which at this point makes him the SDMB’s single most evil scumbag.

They all understod. They just didn’t agree. It *IS * possible to understand AND disagree at the same time.

He has to be kidding.

Dropping neutron bombs on Iran and Saudi Arabia with the goal of indiscriminate slaughter which may or may not eliminate a group of terrorists or a sovereign government might just fit a loose definition of genocide, I think.

No , they have existed since the early sixties
Neutron Bomb
Declan

1960s style neutron bombs!

It’s called cognitve dissonane.

Dude, you don’t have a leg to stand on, and if you continue making these baseless comments, you’re going to kick out other people’s legs from under them.

Your comments about the Arab world are disgusting and hypocritical. Whatever point you’re trying to make is lost on more reasonable posters when you advocate extreme violence against their countries (them).

Stop with the buzz threads, tasteless stories and hypocritical posts. Your credibility is shot to hell, but there are others who would like to make their points without your posts being used unfairly against them. Others like being here and sharing the space in relative harmony.

Honestly, I despise some of the posters that you seem to, but you aren’t learning from them, you’re imitating them. Anyone who would advocate a “solution” that would kill or forsake such a large number of innocent and maltreated people is contemptible, regardless of their position. Anyone who would advocate dropping a neutron bomb on a country falls under this category. Just like anybody who suggests turning the Middle East (or part of it) into glass or falsifies their posts with bullshit “facts” does.

I would’ve told a more reasonable, more humane person to just ignore the threads and posters that angered them. That the internet was a haven for malicious assholes who didn’t have any other means of expressing themselves without being ridiculed or beaten. But now it seems that you’re another one of those malicious people.

If your posts are an actual indication of what you think, you can suck my cockquinox. This board obviously isn’t for you.

PaulFitzroy, shut the FUCK up. Stop speaking for Israel. Just stop. You’re not from around here, you don’t understand the situation, and your opinions do not reflect those of the vast majority of Israelis. If there’s going to be a war in the Middle East, it isn’t going to be YOU who fights it. So just cut your crazy talk. I’m just this far away from thinking you’re an anti-Israeli plant.

Plus, now I can’t stark my own pit thread on Sevastopol. Asshole.

Alessan, I’ve been suspecting that for a while now.

IANA mod, but I’d like to invite people to end the beating and turn on a little love.

PaulFitzroy, my friend, you said you’re in college, which means you’re pretty young. Young people sometimes think there are easy solutions to things: just drop a bomb, and everything will be worked out. And we can do so because we’re the good guys.

It’s a good thing that you’re participating on this board, because you’ll learn pretty soon that life doesn’t work like that. People disagree deeply, they do so for long periods of time, and often there are no easy solutions to problems. Life requires tons of diplomacy, compromise, and patience with people that you violently disagree with (bosses and folks like that).

You got beat fairly and unambiguously in the “homophobe” thread. At times like that, it helps just to admit, “I was wrong.” Admitting you’re wrong gives you enormous power. Why? Becuase suddenly you’re in control, not that little creature that must be petted, pleased, and prostrated to all the time–the ego.

Dropping atomic weapons on civlian populations is wrong, too.

This isn’t a re-education camp–you’re free to continue holding either opinion. At the same time, however, you could concede that you didn’t argue well and lost the debate that way. Or you could really be tough and admit you blew it on the opinion side, too. Doing either, I suspect, would convince most people here that you’re 10x the dude they thought you were. Give it shot.

And I wish you good luck on the boards.

I never advocated any such thing.

Fine, they didn’t agree. Why do you think I got “beaten?” I didn’t start that thread about “homophobia” to convince anyone of anything. I really didn’t. It was a way of me venting my frustration about the issue, and expressing my opinion about it. It got turned into a discussion about a different issue. It’s not a game with a winner or loser.

Why? Isn’t this a discussion board? Or are certain opinions not allowed?

What if I decide to move to Israel after I get my degree in college? I’ve thought about it for a while. And every new terror attack in Israel makes me more and more want to move there just so I could fight for the IDF.

I didn’t get beat fairly, or unambiguously. I didn’t get “beat” at all; I discovered that most people don’t share my opinion on the issue. That is all.

Where have I demonstrated a need to be petted, pleased or prostrated? When did I ever give any indication of giving a fuck what other people thought about my opinions? There would be no control, were I to admit that I was wrong, only the illusion thereof.

And, by the way, an opinion can’t be wrong.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Israel bombed Saddam Hussein’s nuclear facility at Osirak; that’s why he didn’t have any nukes to attack us with today. It was a wise countermeasure and an example of “dropping the bomb” that did indeed solve more problems than it created.

Where did I suggest doing this? I said we should bomb Iran and Saudi Arabia. I didn’t say where we should bomb them. Maybe I meant that we should bomb their military bases, or maybe the Iranian nuclear reactor. Or maybe I meant that we should drop a bomb in an empty field miles and miles from any civilians. Who knows? The wholesale killing of innocent civilians isn’t what I support.

Sorry. How can you blow an opinion? And how would it make me tough to admit that I did so?

Oh, I’ve had pretty good luck. My threads have generated more traffic and discussion than I could have ever hoped for. This is a discussion board where people rant and get pissed off about things; where differing opinions clash against each other. It is not a game to be won or lost.

Good night everyone.

Heil Hitler, indeed. You’re not real.

Paul Fitzroy
Jeesh, grow the fuck up.

I don’t know where you got your misinformed opinion but I sincerely hope that you will see the light someday.
Judging by your posts this probably won’t happen though.
In the meantime I would like to offer to pay you your subscription-fee if you promise to fuck off and never come back with your pathetic Nazi bullshit.

Just reading your propaganda makes my head hurt.

Sieg Heil, yourself. I really don’t see where you’re any better. You’re an idiot that wants to kill off a large segment of a population just to kill a small minority of that population that are terrorists. You’re advocating government sanctioned murder.

So… you hate gays and Muslims… anyone else?

Dontcha just love keyboard heroes?

I’ll bet if we were to find a post on some fundamentalist Islam website claiming the solution to the worlds problems would be to use Neuclear weapons on the USA PaulFitzroy would be rabid about how evil they are.

You are a complete tool.

That’s a great description of you debating with this nimrod.

Yeeesh! The Son of John John comes back to haunt us.

Child, an opinion can be very wrong. It can be based on bad information or bad logic. It can be the result of a twisted desire to see the world from one’s comfortable ignorance. It can be the result of a too bitter (or too Pollyanna-ish) world view. There is nothing preventing an opinion from being wrong in any objective sense.

Now you may be confusing the notion that “everyone has a right to their opinion” (which really means that there are no moral ways to remove or forcibly change a person’s opinion) with some vague self-assurance that if you fall back on the trite claim that “Well, that is my opinion” you are shielded from criticism. However, that is simply not true. Opinions are expressions of world views. Some world views are incorrect (all wealth is a zero-sum game) and some world views are evil (The Final Solution). A person who holds a world view that is incorrect or evil can very seriously be wrong.

We may be unable to change your opinion (short of some immoral invasive physical or psychological assault on your mind), but you do not have a “right” to an opinion that cannot be supported, and opinions can be very wrong.

.

This claim is disingenuous in the extreme. If you had intended to indicate a limited attack on a military target, you would have said so or corrected the false impression in your very next post. You explicitly endorsed ethnic cleansing in the Occupied Territories and you then went on to advocate dropping “a neutron bomb” on two separate nations. Since, in reality, a single neutron bomb is an extraordinarily limited weapon that would do nothing to change the attitudes of the people or governments of those nations, the clear implication was that you wanted to use an anti-personnel device to harm the whole nation while leaving the infrastructure for us to take for ourselves. Were those your exact words? No. But you set up the context by claiming that some undefined dropping of a bomb would be a “solution.” Either you are so horribly ignorant of the effects of dropping a single bomb on a nation* (particularly a large nation that has already suffered a years-long war, such as Iran) that you childishly believe that such an act would do more than anger them into defiance or else you intended the metaphorical extermination of two peoples in the way I set out, above. (And, as you continue to refuse to address, the Saudis are not our enemies, so what would be the point?)

You whine that other people do not understand you, but you choose your words so carelessly as to put understanding you beyond the reach of even very bright people. Perhaps you were being extremely careless in your language and are now afraid to admit that you were that sloppy. Perhaps you really meant that you wish the extermination of innocent people. In either event, you are in the wrong and your opinions, if not changeable, are worthless on this topic.

  • (In whcich case your opinion of the results of that bombing is wrong.)

All debates among the firmly committed are for the audience at home. If Paul can actually learn something, that is fine. If not, I am having the fun of exposing his arguments to some lurking youngster who may not understand why Paul is wrong.
