Hmmm that’s not what you said. But hey whatever man, keep on performing it getting good attention.
That’s fine, I’m providing cites, and I may get crossed up when the board is so concerned about getting me banned and twisting my words. I’m sure there are plenty of people left on this board, well for now at least that are curious and will at least look at the links I posted for a different perspective.
I’ve already done some service for a board that had no clue why Trump went to that conference. This board thought Trump did it for maga, so I’ve already done what I set out to do, by explaining maga wasn’t the target.
My guess is that there is still a decent amount of people here that have access to Sirius radio and will look up those cites and will look at my other links.
They will see that it’s not me that is saying this, that I’m just relaying a point of view that is lost on this board now.
Called it…
Called what? I’ve always said some of the points I bring up do not reflect my actual position and I always have been open to be swayed in another direction.
Except on the official 9/11 story of course, that is total bullshit that contrary to this board, no one believes. I’ll never backtrack from that.
Sometimes? You, sir, are a very generous person.
I have backed up the points I’ve made. You can handwave them but I have back up.
I have to find a way to link to Sirius. Every guest and caller got what Trump was trying to do instantly. The hosts kind of struggled at first until it was explained to them.
The main question is whether or not it will work.
If its something people were talking about on the radio, it’s likely others were talking/writing about it in other media. Some of those Sirius radio guests may have Substacks or other writings online.
Also, some Sirius radio programs are released on YouTube later on. Not 100%, but worth a search.
Thanks for that, I’ll look around. I just want to mess you all up so bad with the fact I’m not crazy, I’m not pulling stuff out of my ass. It’s worth it to me to try to link directly to it here.
Challange accepted.
If I explain to you what a thing a person did was trying to achieve does the fact that other people adopt my understanding prove that I am correct about what the person was trying to achieve?
You are the first one that will have to say “oh that guy was right”. I look forward to that moment.
Your inability to answer that question is noted.
You do understand that unless and until someone from the Trump campaign publicly states ‘We did thing for reason’ you have nothing to look forward to?
For now, I’m going to try find a way to link these satellite radio programs.
You will all have to retract the statements against me which as I’ve said are a newer thing.
The Dean Obeidallah Show has its own YouTube channel, and he does upload his Sirius XM programs. I don’t know if there’s a lag – like whether he posts a video a few days after a broadcast.
But peruse the link above. You might can find the interview. Pam Keith has been on his show before, but I couldn’t find her on a recent show. Was she on with Dean alone, or was there someone else?
(I want to check out Dean’s interview with actor Ron Perlman … he’s always good for a right proper Trump skewering)
EDIT: Obeidallah’s channel even uploads a text transcript of the interviews, so you can word-search them without listening through the entire video. Very handy.
Thanks again, and I’ll just point out now I got my albums mixed up. “She Watch Channel Zero” is on the follow up album.
I’m sure I’ll be nitpicked to death for that but it’s in the same timeframe.
Albums mixed up? It’s not possible to read those lyrics and not know they’re about TV watching causing unreasonable life expectations and nothing to do with sororities.
… and Obeidallah’s YouTube channel page has a link to his Substack. And from there, I found this:
Now, that was not on his Sirius XM program … but perhaps he replayed a snippet from the 7/29 chat with Keith? Do you know if Keith called in to Obediallah’s Sirius program, or was she there live? Hard to tell if you’re catching it in the car or something.
But anyway. That’s a way to track down stuff. Media usually has a lot of cross-connections. A radio host has a Substack and a YouTube channel. Or a regular op-ed column. You catch the name of a guest, you Google them (better yet, Google News) to see if they’ve made the news in the past few days and covered the same topic with another outlet. Etc.
EDIT: Unfortunately, that interview with Keith is paywalled. But it establishes that Obeidallah did interview Keith recently. And I’m sure he recorded usable audio, and it’s plausible that he might have replayed some of the Keith interview in recent days on his radio show.
It’s not on there yet, but she was on Thursdays 08/02/24’s show. There may be a lag.
Michelangelo Signorile has been a tougher nut to crack. He used to post his programs sporadically to a few different services, including YouTube and TuneIn. But he hasn’t done it in a few years. Googling for his and Eleanor Swift’s name came up empty on the topic of Trump’s appearance at the NABJ convention. Didn’t find anything on blogs or online print media.
That’s not to say there’s nothing out there. I just didn’t find it within 10 minutes of noodling. Signorile does have a Substack that looks to be worth perusing. EDIT2: Crap – it’s mostly paywalled. Oh well.
EDIT: Eleanor Clift is 84 years old. She still works regularly, but not prolifically. I can find print pieces of hers, but nothing about this topic. That doesn’t mean that your account is wrong – it just means she didn’t cover it elsewhere in print. Since Trump’s appearance at NABJ was just this week, Clift could come out with something in upcoming days.
No, I always took the albums as a metaphor of a journey.
First album they are just regular dudes driving in an old model Oldsmobile." Your Gonna Get Yours". They are just chilling in the ride having fun. For younger people when Chuck D is rapping about his 98 Oldsmobile that is a model of car not a year. It was a hooptie.
Later on, they have “Too Much Posse” and are going to “Yo, Bum Rush The Show”.
That leads them to “Raise The Roof” with the Zeta Deltas and AKA’s.
It’s all a subtle and subversive social commentary as things were done back then. Saying g F- the police didn’t come out until like 3 years after this.
The next album they were more direct on the commentary with “She Watch Channel Zero”.
40 years later it’s easy to post the lyrics out of context to prove a point and I mixed up the timeline for the same reason.
