I only get annoyed when somebody collects all the turds, puts them in a bag on my porch, and sets the bag on fire. It draws a crowd and then everybody has to analyze what’s happened. Sorta like the pit.
Minnesota has fertile soil, ample rain, an industrious Nordic populace and a six week growing season. Good for corn, wheat, and rhubarb. You can eat any of those, but you can sell the corn and the wheat. So, they eat the rhubarb. Its good for you, it builds character. Essentially, rhubarb is surly celery.

Based on the example threads, I thought his point wasn’t so much “Don’t feed the trolls”, but “Don’t make threads deliberately to bait the trolls.” It’s one thing to feel need to deal with a false statement made by a troll. It’s another thing to create threads that practically have a neon sign saying, “Hey, trolls, come over here and throw your feces.”
Although, in KarlGrenze’s defense, he did open it in the right forum. It’s only the mods and their fatalistic attitudes that got it moved where people could shit on it without breaking the rules. But I’m pretty sure FXMastermind was deliberately baiting trolls, even though he did open it in MPSIMS.
The problem is that generally speaking, the troll threads are usually the only ones interesting enough to grab my attention.

I see the point. Too many people try to debate Magiver on Benghazi or Bricker on voter ID. Both minds are utterly closed to logic, so those threads are a waste of everyone’s time. If only we could let the turd wither and dry op unnoticed.
