I am convinced that HANDY (for those who don’t remember, this guy knew simply everything - physics, mechanics, home, car, boat, rocket repair, law, medicine - everything.
Trouble was he was WRONG 98% of the time. The Mods prohibited him from responding to law and medicine (where wrong info can have nasty consequences). He responded by screwing up even more subject matter. It got to the point where real experts were occupied following him around and correcting him.
That HANDY seems to have infused many.

How many time (aside from the OP and every other post) do I need to say I want to remove the damned thing, not spend an eternity on a work-around?
Somebody pointed out that no fewer than 3 people suggested “two plungers” - all within the first 20 posts on another thread. These were NOT “i agree - use two plungers” posts. These were real, live, “Here’s a new idea” posts.
Which is more pathetic - can’t be bother to scan less than a page (“2 plungers! Aren’t I clever?”, or coming up with the bizarre responses to the water hammer problem (can’t have air in your water supply lines - if you DON’T have air, you get the hammer effect!)
I’ve seen message boards develop this group think problem - we have a single response to everything - the only cure is to shoot the board.
