I pit the goat felching douchenozzle(s) who blew up the Boston Marathon

Thanks, GIGO! Here’s the link: [One suspect in custody, another remains on the loose

wow…:eek::eek: still chaos at 4amET…multiple IED’s used and/or found…number 2 suspect still loose

The apprehended suspect is dead?? I can’t find any confirmation.

Yes, he has been reported dead for the past couple hours.

I know this is a joke, but you can, or at least could at one point. I recall a news story a few years ago about online hunting using Internet-linked cameras and remote controlled rifles.

Just snipe the most you’re willing to pay.

Seriously? How about the propriety or legality of a cell phone detonating an explosive device? There weren’t asking for any other reason than safety …

AP just said the bomb suspects are from Chechnya.

The hell?

Wow … WOW

From what I understand, Al-Qaeda has a certain presence in Chechnya. Latching onto insurgencies and civil wars involving Muslims is pretty much their M.O.

Anyone else find it really weird that they let a hostage go after setting off a bunch of bombs and murdering a cop?

Did *anybody *have “Chechen separatists” in the pool?

But how does that translate to targeting Americans? AQ or not, the Chechen beef is with Russia.

ETA: At least, that’s true for Chechen separatists. Maybe these guys were Chechen/Caucasians* recruited by AQ, but not separatists.

  • Some reports identify them not as Chechens, but as Russians “from a region near Chechnya.”

I suppose people are allowed to choose their cause and their targets. Not all Chechens believe in the same things and have the same priorities.

Indeed. But a lot of people are jumping directly from the report that these guys were from somewhere near Chechnya, to the assumption that Chechen independence was their cause. I even saw somebody talking about “Islamic fundamentalists” in Chechnya, which is ridiculous, political causes aside.

Why is that ridiculous? There are no Islamic fundamentalists in Chechnya?

I’ve never heard of any. All right, there could be individuals with any inclination you like, in any country. But Caucasian Muslims are culturally much more akin to the sort of secular Muslims you find in Eastern Europe and Turkey, rather than the doctrinaire Arabic species.

I’m really just saying, the supposed ethnic identity and/or origin of these guys is a long way from being any kind of explanation of their motives.

So it was Chechen Muslims.

I’m not surprised.

Those of you who stated you’d be surprised if it wasn’t a Tea Party type: Has this gotten you to think that maybe, just maybe you should keep an open mind and not jump to blame the them for everything?

There was absolutely no reason to think that the bombing was any sort of tax protest. The Boston Marathon is a target that could attract anyone. I stand by my initial reaction to those of you who couldn’t imagine anyone else from being responsible other than the Tea Party based on such flimsy logic as it being Tax Day and Patriots Day. You are so far gone politically, that you automatically knee jerk to blame the Tea Party out of partisan blindness.

You should give this some thought. Seriously.

Really, the Chechn war is one of those situations where what’s originally a pretty straight-up nationalist cause enlists allies that have a “greater” agenda. Of course, that has allowed Moscow to conveniently attribute all separatist violence to “outsider” Islamic terrorists, but even a stopped clock is right a couple of times a day – and BTW if indeed they are of some Russian-subject nationality they just handed Mr. Putin a lovely present of an excuse (as if he needed one) to round up not just the usual suspects plus also whoever’s currently being merely inconvenient.

Now hearing a report that one of them was born in Kygyzstan, the other one in the RF (though if Tamerlan was 26 y/o he would have been born while it was still the USSR).
