I know both Hillary and Bill personally from way back. They are like most politicians. They crave power. Once they got the power, they each decided they should cash in on it, but the power is much more satisfying. You have similar types of people on both sides of the aisle.
The unreal hatred of Hillary by Trump supporters is confusing. They hate her because of “lies”? And her willingness to say anything to be elected?
Have they met Trump at all? If you are voting Trump over Hillary because you think his policies and leadership will lead better than Hillary then enjoy the vote! More power to you.
But if you are voting Trump because Hillary is “worse” or a “crooked liar” I would BEG you to review Trumps history with a bit more detail.
I listed quite a few of the reasons why people don’t like her in post 108. But since they can’t be blamed on sexism or racism (she was in that black guy’s administration, you know) crickets have been chirping.
I listed quite a few of the real reasons why people don’t like her in post 108. But since they can’t be blamed on sexism or racism (she was in that black guy’s administration, you know) no one seems interested
It’s poor form to assign odious motives to voters of your candidates challenger, but since the spittle covered paltry arguments against her lack things like facts or reason we’re really left with nothing else.
That’s because it is pointless to go through this list again, but still…
First, hesitating to call it hate, and instead going with a word that means “.extreme hatred or dislike” is a bit odd, but we will proceed.
No bona fides? You are aware of her education, background, and employment prior to being first lady, right? It’s definitely at least bordering on sexism to say that her only bona fide is her husband.
Pretty much all of this comes down to her not performing her role as wife properly, with rumor and insinuation thrown in for good measure. Little sexist.
Opinion, I suppose. I don’t find her that way at all.
Bit of a point here, she has had problems with perception of her honesty. I feel that she has been as honest as she has been able in a world where things don’t have simple answers that are always right.
Once again, perception and opinion, without any fact backing it.
You ever meet anyone who wanted to get into politics, much less be president, that wasn’t ambitious?
I can say she is certainly not willing to do or say anything, watching her in the 2008 primary, she could have forced the issue more, had a better chance of winning, but hurt both party and country in the process, she didn’t. She could have switched parties and ran against barak in 2012, she didn’t.
If your complaint is that she is willing to make concessions and compromises, then I cosider that a good thing. Opinions vary.
There are alot of reasons people don’t like her, There are alot of reasons why people do like her. I don’t know the “real” hillary, but I know her accomplishments in public and private life, and those are admirable.
Here you are, calling her a bitch. That’s pretty sexist language. There may be a reason why people feel that you are using sexist language.
I see…
I liked your entire post, k9bfriender, but one part in particular caught my eye:
First, hesitating to call it hate, and instead going with a word that means “.extreme hatred or dislike” is a bit odd, but we will proceed.

Good catch! I only skim Starving’s posts for laughs so missed this, but I think I’ll bookmark for the next Pitting.
How (recreationally!) outrageous that this bitter anal-retentive hater hates us for calling him a hater, since he only detests Hillary! Starving is too stupid to use a dictionary, but I think he’s a native English speaker so knew subconsciously that detests is already at least as strong a term.
Of course “detest” is a strong term. But it doesn’t necessarily equate to hatred. For example, I hate some people but I don’t detest them. And I detest some people but I don’t hate them. Hatred rises to a stronger level than detestation. They are not identical terms.
People who know how to interpret dictionaries are able to make these distinctions. Every synonym doesn’t have to apply. Take the quote above about detesting turnip. People may very well dislike eating certain vegetables but I doubt very many truly ‘hate’ them.
I’m afraid you’re going to have to look elsewhere for your Pit fodder, because all you’ll accomplish is to make yourself look overeager and poorly educated if you try going with this one.
I like Hillary because I meet a lot of loose women at her rallies … just which part of your anatomy are y’all thinking with?
“detest synonyms: abhor, hate, loathe, despise, shrink from, be unable to bear, find intolerable, dislike, disdain, have an aversion to, abominate”
So you don’t hate Hillary, but you do detest her. Would you kindly broaden our knowledge by going through the other ten words on the synonym list?
Do you abhor her? Loathe her? …
Not a synonym. Very first definition. I’ll agree that I don’t know how to “interpret dictionaries”, other than to read what they have to say. Is there some sort of annotated version that you prefer?
Besides, if you truly understood dictionaries you’d know that the first definition isn’t the only defining one.
And if you look up the definition for “hate” on your link: a very strong feeling of dislike
Thank you, Miss Geekgirl. You’d have been even more amused if you scrolled down to hate (verb).
detest: to dislike (someone or something) very strongly
hate (verb): to dislike (someone) very strongly, [or]
to dislike (something) very strongly
Dictionaries vary, and Merriam even offers Full definitions:
detest: to feel intense and often violent antipathy toward : loathe
I’m not sure what Mr. Starving would make of “to feel intense and often violent antipathy toward”, but he is proud to cite the Simple definitions in this dictionary so, we’ll stick with those.
When I compare Starving’s preferred defintions for detest and hate, the main, or rather only, difference is that to hate someone or something you apparently must first decide whether it is a person or a thing, but with detest (“someone or something”) Starving is spared the moral conundrum of deciding which category fits Ms. Clinton.
But you’ve still not answered my question, Artist. It was you who introduced the eleven synonyms. Do you loathe Ms. Clinton? Abominate her?
Please answer. I’m going to ask the Mod to amend thread title so you don’t feel left out, e.g. “I Pit those who Hate, Detest or Loathe Hillary.” I really would like your input.
NETA: For those who read my recent post out of context and think I’m some anal-retentive nitpicker, let me point you to the context.
It was Starving who proudly asserted he didn’t “hate” Hillary — that was just a hateful word us hateful libtards use to impugn loving patriots like himself. He merely detested Hillary; he merely “felt intense and often violent antipathy toward her, and loathed” her.
When I see a performance like Starving’s I always feel like asking
Sir? Wouldn’t you be more comfortable if you removed that large stick from your rectum?
I’m not sure he’d be able to remain upright without it.
And so you shall get it, but later tonight as I’m productively engaged at the moment.
Sooo, political novice, persecution complex, smug, superior, condescending, slimy liar, lawyerly tricky, hysterical ambition, bitchy and reprehensible…
You know, I might think you would have somewhat of a point, if she wasn’t running against a man who is the physical embodiment of these terrible qualities. Literally. And those are his good points.
The only way Trump makes sense is if you actually LIKE these qualities. Because Trump does 'em all bigger and better!
I don’t agree that Trump does all these things bigger and better than Hillary, but for the sake of discussion let’s say he does. How is that supposed to lessen in any way the things people don’t like about Hillary? If you embezzle a million dollars from your company are you any less a thief because a competitor’s employee embezzles three million?
Plus Hillary’s been pissing people off for almost twenty-five years. Trump for the most part only one.
Not much.
Proud? I posted it simply to disprove the contention that ‘detest’ always equals ‘hate’.
One can hate or one can detest any number of things, whether a person or a thing. I hate silly off-topic arguments like this for example.
I introduced them, like I said, to prove a point. I said nary a word to indicate they all pertain to me.
Well, now you have it. I’m sure you’re disappointed, but that’s what happens when people refuse to play along when you try to put words in their mouths or assign to them motives they don’t have.
