Names, please.
Some articles on conservatives who implied Hilary was faking her concussion:
I don’t think it did, and since you don’t believe this crap, you should let this go. The idea that she was trying to get out of the hearings never made any sense because Congress always could have subpoenaed her later or spoken to her deputies instead (which I think is what happened). Shit like this is annoying because dumb people mistake it for actual skepticism.
Oh, he accused her of faking the flu, not the concussion. Not quite what the OP was talking about, but I guess close enough for government work. Still, that’s sorta yesterday’s news.
Who are the others? The OP used the plural.
madmonk: Are any of those “sitting congressmen”?
Two problems with that: a few days earlier she’d canceled a trip to the Middle East because of the flu, which would mean she was skipping out on work just to create a cover story - and that would probably be worse than just faking illness - and as far as I know, even after her illness was disclosed she was still expected to testify at the Benghazi hearing. That wasn’t changed until after she fainted and hurt herself.
What a country we’ve become when a high-ranking government official has an accident and the default assumption by the disloyal opposition is that it was faked for political purpose. Please take a moment and think about it, and ask yourself if these are the politics you want for your country.
I pit the people who stoop so low into their own shit as to think that way. AFAICT from the post above, that includes you, billfish678, you friggin’ dingbat.
I didn’t say that sitting congressmen made the claim. I said that Republicans are awful people and they are just awful: hateful, racists, dim witted, anti-science, with dreadful taste in art and clothing, plus they let fear be the defining feature of their lives. Fortunately, they are dying out and the GOP mostly consist of old men yelling at empty chairs.
I didn’t say you did.
I’m sure some are. I’m sure many are. But most of my friends are Republicans, and none of them fits that description.
I may have been mistaken about Congressmen vs Congressman (or maybe not, but I don’t care to check). If my mistake caused you pain or discomfort, I apologize. Feel free to chalk this up as a win in your “nit successfully picked” column.
I had a stroke upon reading that. I had to type my reply with the little toe on my right foot.
I hope you’re happy!
mostly what’s been documented are lunatic rightwingers, so we can nitpick that, not that I doubt iAndyii might be able to document some congresscritters making this claim as well. I wonder if any of the idiots we did document will come out with some sort of “I was wrong”?
Shall we have a contest to see which of us can hold our breath the longest?
Allen West (already mentioned) is a sitting Congressman for a few more weeks. Granted he’s over there with Louie Gohmert and Joe Wilson in super-batshit land, but still.
You forgot to mention that it was a high-ranking government official who previously lied about getting shot at by snipers for political purpose.
That justifies everything. Carry on and watch out for black helicopters.
Well, from my earlier links, the list includes:
Former U.S. U.N. spokesman Richard Grenell
The New York Post
former US Ambassador to the UN John Bolton
Charles Krauthammer, Washington Post columnist and Fox News pundit
These aren’t elements of the fringe of the GOP.
She wasn’t on trial. She was to give testimony at a senate investigative hearing.
There is a big fucking difference.
Nicely done.
Oh, but he wasJust Asking Questions.
They’re called Fakers. They insist Hilary faked it. They demand hospital records, MRI images and samples of her blood.
The Faker movement goes back to the “assassination” of President Kennedy. Lacking skull fragments and brain matter, they insist JFK Is still alive.
