Is it okay if it’s a really obscure movie quote? I (well, it wasn’t from wit, it was from the pre-op shot of something they’d given me) really cracked up the operating crew giving me “the mask of oblivion” when as they lowered it onto my face and said “breathe comfortably and start counting backward from 100” I groggily ad libbed:
“No thanks, my mom told me never to breathe anything from strangers”. (which is a line from one of my fave cult classics).
Apparently they’d all either seen the movie, or it just struck them as funny because the last thing I remember was them all busting up laughing.
