I Pit William Foreman, Writer for the Associated Press

because I found this paragraph morally appalling.

Talk about reversing cause and effect… :dubious:

We Americans used to be tough.
Now everyone just thinks we’re crazy.

What about grammatically appalling? The dependent clause in that sentence makes my head explode.

I don’t see anything wrong with the paragraph grammatically.

-FrL-

It’ll make more sense if we remove the actual content:

“You see, this here is a complete sentence by itself - BUT THIS BIT IS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THOUGHT THAT REALLY OUGHT TO GET ITS OWN SENTENCE, IF YOU’RE GOING TO INCLUDE THIS PART AFTER THE COMMA.”

Plus, it includes one of those false ranges – “from Honda sedans to Apple iPods and Nike sneakers.” Eh, what exactly falls between Hondas on one end and Ipods and sneakers on the other? What is implied? Basically, you have told us that they make sedans, Ipods, and sneakers, but you are pretending that you told us more than that.

Wait, high tolerance for boredom? Have you seen the shit on TV lately? I think he’s giving Americans too little credit here.

Used school girl panties?

That’s Japan, not China.
