I pit Zionism

He didn’t say you were antisemitic, he said you were “giving off strong antisemitic vibes”. Which you absolutely are, with gems like this one:

Is being against male genital mutilation anti-semitic? Or is it anti-Muslim? Or anti-US? Or all of them? Because male genital mutilation is equally established in Jewish and Muslim culture. And almost as well established in mainstream US culture.

No, but saying “I don’t have strong feelings about The Joos, except that I hate it when they mutilate dicks” in a totally unrelated conversation absolutely is.

Also, pretty bold of a guy named “Norse” to show up and start lecturing Muslims and Jews about culture.

Pls explain

You don’t remember the last guy to rant about how superior Northern European cultures are?

Was it or any part of it a war crime?

Ironically, in my local communities, when I hear someone talking about their Norse heritage, it is almost always a sign that they’re a white supremacist. The username definitely pinged for me.

But rather than call this guy a white supremacist, I searched on his username, saw that it was innocent, and left it alone. I’m not going to judge based on “what I hear from my local . . . communities”; I’m gonna judge folks based on what they personally are like.

I’d be happy if he “learned something every day,” specifically learned how he can give off antisemitic vibes through his generalization and his talk about male genital mutilation. I’m afraid that he’s not gonna learn anything here, though.

Which is a shame, because I also think he’s right to hold Netanyahu to account.

You definitely have a lot of ideas about what Israel shouldn’t be doing. But apparently not a lot about what it should.

I agree there have been unnecessary civilian casualties. But I feel part of that responsibility lies on Hamas for choosing to base its organization among civilian populations.

As for genocide, I’ll note that there are a lot of Palestinians living in the West Bank. And Israel isn’t killing them. Because they didn’t start a war with Israel.

A lot of white supremacists make a point of having “Nordic” heritage. Their view is that the “Nordics” are the “race” that has the least amount of non-white ancestry.

Once upon a time I thought that living in one of the Nordic countries it made sense to choose that handle. Just because.

I never imagined that it would be used against me, implicating I were a white supremacist (which I, incidentally, am not). Oh well.

No, they (the Israeli government and IDF) are just standing by as settlers routinely brutalize and steal from them.

Question for you, what has the Palestinian Authority historically done* when their citizens murder Israelis? Do they:

  1. Punish those people to prevent and disincentivize such behavior

Or do they

  1. Pay those people out of a specialty designated Martyr’s Fund (thanks for that aid money, Westerners!)

*I say “historically done” because supposedly Abbas has recently signed an order to end the Pay For Slay program; I’ll believe that when I see it, but for the sake of this discussion we can give him the benefit of the doubt - it doesn’t change his behavior over the last two decades.

What does that have to do with the Israeli government tolerating settler brutality and crimes?

Yeah, I have a lot of ideas about that Israel shouldn’t commit war crimes and genocide. Which they are doing right now.

Not being a world-class politician I don’t have many ideas about what Israel should do to get out from a situation they’re at least partially responsible for. That’s above my pay grade.

I’m not saying you are a white supremacist. You asked why a user name might be associated with white supremacy and I answered your question.

It’s like having 88 in your user name. You may not intend any racist connotation but other people are going to see it and wonder. So you should be aware.

You may not be saying that. And others may not be saying that outright.

“You’re tolerating crimes against us!” comes across much less seriously when it comes from a party that actively sponsors far more serious crimes against the people they’re complaining about.

Ethnic cleansing at the least. Genocide, I don’t know - if you consider Mizrahim a distinct ethnicity or nationality from other Jews, then sure.

Join the club. I don’t think a single person who has criticized Israel for their actions can provide an answer that solves the critical problem of Israel existing without unceasing threats of violence from their neighbors.

Okay, then let me ask you some questions.

Do you feel that Hamas has committed war crimes and genocide?

If you feel that Hamas has committed war crimes and genocide, do you feel that they are justified for doing so?

If you feel that both Hamas and Israel have committed war crimes and genocide, do you feel that both sides should be condemned for this?

Do you feel that Hamas and Israel are both being condemned for their war crimes and genocide?

Do you feel that you have condemned both Hamas and Israel for their war crimes and genocide?

Do you feel that Hamas and Israel have committed a similar level of war crimes and genocide?

Do you feel that Hamas and Israel have equal responsibility for the war in which these war crimes and genocide have occurred?

Should the amount of condemnation Hamas or Israel receive be proportionate to the amount of war crimes and genocide they have committed?

Should the amount of condemnation Hamas or Israel receive be proportionate to their responsibility for the war in which these war crimes and genocide have occurred?
