I Should Have Never Gone Ziplining- NEW South Park Episode 4/18/2012

I’m a huge South Park fan, and I’m probably one of the only people here with enough classlessness to watch such a show, but if anyone else here caught tonight’s new episode, do you agree that it was one of the best yet?

I was literally in tears by the end of it. The faux-documentary format, the live-action sequence on the boat, and then a bunch of poop puns. What more could we ask for?

Out of all of the years of South Park, this has to be one of the best.

I thought it was mostly hilarious, and was on its way to being one of the best ever episodes, but the live-action sequence at the end was pretty lame. If they would have skipped that and stuck to the regular animation, it probably would have easily been in the top 10 funniest ever.

But the narrated animations of Cartman’s intestinal tract had me dying with laughter, so even with the subpar ending, it was a great episode.

ETA: Oh, and it wasn’t just a generic documentary format. To truly appreciate the parody, you would have to have seen some episodes of “I Shouldn’t Be Alive”

I really liked it. Last week’s episode was (IMO) abysmal, so this one seemed extra awesome in comparison.

I thought the live action sequence on the boat was the moment that the episode went from merely awesome to legendary, but I guess YMMV.

Last week’s episode about bullying wasn’t too great but I didn’t hate it as much as some of the others.

Yeah, I really do need to see “I shouldn’t be alive” to appreciate it more, but then I might just die from how great it was.

Guess I’m in the minority then: I hated the live action sequences but liked the rest.

Actually, since two of us have said they hated the live-action sequence, and only one (the OP) said they loved it, we’re in the majority, so far.

Gah! Australians can’t legally watch it for months… :(:(:frowning: I am so not downloading it right now.

Well, while you’re at it, don’t download some episodes of “I Shouldn’t Be Alive” while you’re waiting.

Yeah, like I’m gonna post in drewtwo99’s topic. He’s got herpes!

to anyone, especially mods, that have been wooshed, it is a reference to the episode, not an actual insult to mr 99

I liked the live action part

I bet you like zip-lining, too.

Beyond sympathizing with the idea of finding forced enthusiasm and overly-chirpy and intrusive “activity director”-type people annoying, this episode didn’t really click for me.

Drawn Together did this parody once. It was funny, but I have to say, SP did it way better

Like the OP, I was in tears. But those tears dried up quickly when they started with the live action crap.

Diet Double Dew, Do the math.

It started awesome and when the live-action “Mr Hankey” appeared, South Park reached a new level.

The live bit definately worked.

FYI: There’s an episode of “I Shouldn’t Be Alive” playing on Animal Planet right now. I’m already laughing thinking about the parallels to the SP parody. If you watched SP last night, or plan to watch it later, you should be watching this. The guys even look like the SP characters, minus Kenny!

It was “Dew the math” which is somehow funnier to me.

I mostly stopped watching South Park quite a while ago, but I caught last night’s episode and I thought it was hilarious. I liked the live action “re-enactment”.

I’ve never been ziplining, but I’ve been on an ultra-slow horseback ride and an ultra-slow boat cruise…

Liked it, but Kenny has blonde hair.

Anyone else catch the Challenger explosion? Such a weird, disturbingly hilarious touch.

The live action parts were what took it from really good to great in my mind. And the “Seven Turdy Seven” was just icing on the poop-cake. Loved it.
