I’m a huge South Park fan, and I’m probably one of the only people here with enough classlessness to watch such a show, but if anyone else here caught tonight’s new episode, do you agree that it was one of the best yet?
I was literally in tears by the end of it. The faux-documentary format, the live-action sequence on the boat, and then a bunch of poop puns. What more could we ask for?
Out of all of the years of South Park, this has to be one of the best.
I thought it was mostly hilarious, and was on its way to being one of the best ever episodes, but the live-action sequence at the end was pretty lame. If they would have skipped that and stuck to the regular animation, it probably would have easily been in the top 10 funniest ever.
But the narrated animations of Cartman’s intestinal tract had me dying with laughter, so even with the subpar ending, it was a great episode.
ETA: Oh, and it wasn’t just a generic documentary format. To truly appreciate the parody, you would have to have seen some episodes of “I Shouldn’t Be Alive”
Beyond sympathizing with the idea of finding forced enthusiasm and overly-chirpy and intrusive “activity director”-type people annoying, this episode didn’t really click for me.
FYI: There’s an episode of “I Shouldn’t Be Alive” playing on Animal Planet right now. I’m already laughing thinking about the parallels to the SP parody. If you watched SP last night, or plan to watch it later, you should be watching this. The guys even look like the SP characters, minus Kenny!
I mostly stopped watching South Park quite a while ago, but I caught last night’s episode and I thought it was hilarious. I liked the live action “re-enactment”.
I’ve never been ziplining, but I’ve been on an ultra-slow horseback ride and an ultra-slow boat cruise…
