Er…not our Very Own Jack Batty, but in my role as a telefundraiser :D, I rang a bloke here in Aus. with the same name. Alas, Mr. Jack Batty did not want to subscribe to the charity I was soliciting for. Eh…you win some, you lose some.
But it got me thinking…have any of you come across others IRL who have shared the names of some of our infamous Dopers? I doubt you would have met too many Spoofes or Mr. Polycarps (haha) but what about the more ‘normal’ names? Have you met any?
Didn’t the residents of Kambuckta feature on a TV show at one stage? 
I took care of Mr. Jack Batty in the hospital a few months ago. He was a very sweet elderly gentleman with GI problems IIRC.
The guy is everywhere.
Sam Stone works in our local hospital and volunteers for the Red Cross. He recently got married and built a house.
