I think this is why middle aged (and older) adults have a hard time making friends.

A couple of days ago I hired a guy to hang a TV on my wall (found him via Google).
When he got here, we cliqued fairly well, as we shared a lot of common interests. We wound up talking each other’s ears off the whole time he was here.

And after he left, I remember thinking to myself: “That’s a pretty cool dude. I like that guy.”
So today, I get a text from the guy: “Look what I found” (He then shows me a pic of an old engineer’s book we were talking about.)

Then I couldn’t help thinking to myself: “Why is this weirdo texting me?”
Pretty sure the fault lies with in myself and not the guy. :smack:

And all this time I thought it’s just 'cause I’m an asshole!

Bromance, and it isn’t even spring yet!

Cheer up. One day you’ll get a guyfriend.

Haha! Oh yes, I am far more suspicious and leery than I used to be even though I do want to make new friends.

I used to pretty much hang out with anybody. If they were weird or mean, it would just be a funny story for later. What changed that fun open door personal policy was probably just getting something that could be taken away and had to be protected, like a decent job and a family of my own. Can’t have everything?

For Gawd sake I hope you waited a day or two before texting him back.
mmm

Lol. I love this board.

Wouldn’t it be nice to have close friends who never fuggin’ bugged you.

So, did you text him back?

With jobs and family who has the time?

Yeah. Don’t call me; I’ll call you when I have something deep and heartfelt to talk about with somebody who really cares! :stuck_out_tongue:

Lol. Yes.

Well, let’s not be too hasty in changing our mind.
