I thought family guy was new today

This is what I found in the TV guide

New, 12/16/2012, Comedy, Animated, Situation Comedy
Peter retells the story of the Nativity in his own words with family members playing the roles of the main characters involved in the plotline.

But the episode seems to be a rerun of the episode Grumpy Old Man

Are they putting new episodes up next week?

Simpsons this week was new, Bobs burgers too. Not sure why this one was a rerun.

They decided to bump the new episodes due to the CT shooting. I assume the episode had some sort of gun violence joke or something.

I think I saw elsewhere on the Board that they’ve pulled this week’s new episode of this and other comedy programs in the wake of the Newtown shooting. Apparently there may have been some shooting jokes in them.

EDIT: Ninja’d by Simplicio.

That does it! NOW, I’m pissed!

Fox has decided to air it on 12/23. Here’s the current schedule for 12/23:
NFL football doubleheader until 8:00
8:00 - Simpsons repeat (the one where Marge wants another baby)
8:30 - Simpsons episode from 12/16, repeated as a number of cities pre-empted it for the memorial service (or at least Obama’s speech)
9:00 - new Family Guy Christmas episode
9:30 - new American Dad, but not the Christmas episode (I assume there’s something in it that Fox feels is still insensitive to show in light of the shootings)

Also, the Bob’s Burgers on 12/16 that some cities didn’t get will be re-aired on 12/30.

Thanks for the schedule. My Fox affiliate aired the new Cleveland Show, then preempted The Simpsons & Family Guy (which was postponed anyway) but then my TiVo missed the beginning of Bob’s Burgers because it started early.

The weird thing is that absolutely nothing I’ve seen on the cancellation says anything about why it needed to be cancelled. They just describe it as a nativity story, and expect that somehow to explain the problem.
