Hey! That’s a very minimalist photo page… in a “blank page” kinda way 
I’ve probably posted my pictures in at least a half dozen of these picture threads before but that ain’t gonna stop me from doing it again! If being a cam whore is my worst crime then I figure I ain’t doin’ so bad.
So here’s me (blonde and brunette! two for the price of one!)
This is a picture of me, made using a pinhole camera I made myself as a testbed for a Kodak KAF-6303 six megapixel scientific-format full-frame CCD and evaluation electronics kit.
I had to stand still for 9 seconds for this shot. Kinda like an old 19th century subject.
It serves as a focal plane for a hyperspectral imaging spectrometer that I can’t really talk about in detail since we are working in the competitive phases of several proposals, one for a future Mars mission. Our sensor can take a picture with a megapixel of resolution like a digital camera, but in addition, it also has a thousand channels of color resolution, unlike your regular digital camera, which only has three.
You can find some published technical literature here if you’re into that kinda stuff. It’s quite useful for things like agriculture, geology, atmospheric science, planetory exploration, etc. In fact, it produces so much data, that scientists are still figuring out how to use it all… they’ve never had that much data at such high resolution to interpret until about 10 years ago.
I took a 120° panorama last week that required 14 Gigabytes to store.

Way, way back in the day (2000 or 2001) there used to be a “Straight Dope People Pages” web site that had a bunch of dopers pictures, including mine. If you travel to one of those Internet archive sites you might be able to find it. (I mean, not to insinuate that my photo alone is worth going off on some big internet trawl.)

OK, here I am (disclaimer: I have dropped about 10 lbs. since the photo was taken, that plus the 10 that the camera adds and I am gosh-darned svelte (well, not yet, but getting there)). You will notice that not only am I a dazzling urbanite, but a published author as well.
