I do everything alone, so that wouldn’t be an odd circumstance for me. I’ve been fortunate to travel to many parts of the country and although I’ve driven past the Washington Monument, I’ve never stopped in D.C. I’m another who would love to visit the Smithsonian and all the other great things in our nation’s capitol. I also have friends who live nearby that I’d love to spend some time visiting.
Whenever I fly to the States, I don’t have enough time to fly from one place to another for a couple of days, unless I went by myself in the first place.
However, if I were living there, I’d probably go and visit a good friend who lives in Wisconsin. Two or three days is about right, after that visitors start to stink.
This one is just too easy. I’d go to Long Beach, CA to see the USS Iowa. I’ve been to 8 of the 9 battleship museums in the US and it is the last one on the list.
This is easy. I have a good friend who lives about 20 miles from the August eclipse maximum darkness and duration path. She’s out in North Carolina so a free trip out there would be peachy! Almost zero cost once I arrived and three days is excellent.
If that didn’t work out then it’s off to Denver to see my first true love. Until last February I had not seen nor communicated with her for 32 years. And she’s still single!
Never been to NOLA? You should fix that. Being permitted to get your drink in a to-go cup means so much, and street performers who are truly talented make you want to tip them.
Just be careful not to step in puke, especially if you’re wearing sandals.
I would let Idle Thoughts pick a destination for me, because, well, that might be interesting, and I can never decide where to go on vacation.
PS does the three days mean three nights? Do I get three days in addition to travel time, because it will take all day to fly to Oceanside NJ and a whole day to fly back.
