I just got a phone call - I got a job I have been coveting for a long time. I’m very happy about this! It’s a small independent bookshop that’s doing very well and although the money isn’t very good I’ve ALWAYS wanted to work in a bookshop. Yay!
You deserve it!!! You’ll definitely have fun, and I bet the money situation will get better the longer you work there. Congrats
i am sooooo jealous.
now the tough part, try to take home more money than books.
Ditto, but why go home?
That’s great Fran!
I’m so happy you got it!
Love ya,
Rose
Congratualtions, Francesca!

Huzzah for Puddin’.
It’s so great when you actually like your job. If the book store sold off-beat music, you’d be set.
(By “off-beat” music, I of course mean, stuff you can’t just find anywhere. Not that the music itself would be out of time in any way.)
-Rue.
I’m going to be working in a book store next summer, I’m tired of the job I’ve had for the last three years, at a camp. It will be a very welcome change.
ahem
I will now do a brief interpretive dance to express my feelings at this announcement.

Congrats, Francesca. I’d LOVE to work in a book store or a library, but I can’t handle the temptation. All those BOOKS calling out to me: Read me! No me! No me! [giggle] Have fun with your new job!
Yay, Frannie! Woohooo! I’m so glad you got it!
Only, now you’ll have to quit staying up so late with us
Uhm Miss, could you show me where the books on [sub]mumble mumble, how to mumble mumble[/sub] are?
I am soooo jealous, What a cool job. Think of it, you are putting away books, oops one happens to open, there you are having to read at work. What a life.
Congrat on the new fabulous job.
Congratulations, Frannie! Sounds like a great job.
Very cool Fran.

“I’m looking for a book… ‘The Blue’ something something. By Randy someone. Do you have it?”
When I worked for a book store, they let us choose a paperback at no charge once a week. Perhaps your shop has something similar, and you can rack up all your money to blow on your trip to the states!
