Ice water & other missed things in the MMP

I don’t know Butters.
My son ate them when he was younger, but he won’t eat them anymore. I never could eat them, YUK! Then again I always felt the same way about pop-tarts and pizza rolls. My son won’t eat those anymore either.

Irk is boring today, not that busy.

I went to put a load of clothes in the washer and saw that the whites I had put in to soak a few days ago were still in there.
I feel like I am losing my mind sometimes.
The other day I put something on the stove, went outside to feed the cats, decided to sit out there for a bit, then when I came in I wondered what was burning.
Totally forgot I had left something on the stove.

Sari how much did you charge when you did pet sitting? I am also losing my mind too. CRAFT.

Howdy Y’all! In my defense it was five-fifteen in the a. of m. when I posted. I got OYKW’s vehicle taken care of, returned it to him, got twuck, made a run by :eek:Wally Jr., got back to da cave and spiffed it up. Go Me! Been rainy off and on all day as well but now the sun is all shiny. In a bit I shall leave for the church house to start prep duties. Rah.

I don’t like to travel and am happy and content to stay close by. Seriously in the past few years the furthest I have ventured from home is to go up to Ye Olde Home Towne for the most part. The only other travel times of late have been to Augusta, Jawja, and the conference center at Honey Creek for church related stuff. I may be goin’ to Statesboro, Jawja (remember Peaches? That’s her stompin’ grounds) for Diocesan Convention in November. It will be a big one as we will be electin’ a new Bishop.

The best thing about Hot Pockets.

I’ve got the chicken in the rotisserie. In about 45 mins, I’ll start the veggies - green beans-n-mushrooms-n-onions, and maybe crescent rolls for the starch. We’ll have a good supper tonight.

Meanwhile, I’ll knit a bit more.

I think I was charging $20/visit Butters, although I know some clients were paying $15, some were paying $25. It kind of depended on what was expected, how far I had to travel, and how many visits per day.
If I was coming 3-4 times a day I would usually charge less if I could hang out and watch TV, that way I could combine visits and not have to travel so much.

For a puppy you’d want, at minimum, 3 visits a day, 4 would be better.

I would make sure the pet sitter is bonded and insured.

I don’t know what I am having for dinner. I ate the last of the ham, nothing is thawed out, nothing sounds good either.
I didn’t plan for today very well.

My two kitties, Zoey and Shadow are probably Maine Coone mixes.

Big, long-haired babies. Not so much a problem with Shadow, but Zoey’s fur is mostly super-fine, curly and even longer than Shadow’s fur. And, since they’re tubby babies, their grooming is not the most complete.

Which has led to Zoey having a lot of mats in her fur. I’ve been trying to comb them out, but I gave up this past week, and I’ve started cutting out mats as I find them.

Zoey looks like a first-grader got to her with a pair of scissors.

We’re buying a(nother) house! We put in an offer on a little house in Maupin Orygun and they accepted it this morning. It’s a little house, about 700 sq.ft., but has an unfinished basement that will add about another 500 sq. ft. when I finish it.

Wifey is already working on my to-do list. :dubious:

I don’t eat hot pockets. I do buy ‘emergency lunch’ things to put in the freezer for when I don’t feel like making something for breakfast or lunch, but I tend toward lean cuisine or protein bowls sorta things, and I only like a few of those things.

Well, now I’m off, and I’m leaving too.

Ziva is a long-haired kitteh and she was severely matted, so I had to take her to the vet to be shaved because she had to be sedated. Now she’s got a lion cut. But we found another mat in her mane - not sure how we’ll nip that. It’s a small one, but she does NOT like being held.

Supper has been ingested, dishes are washing. In laws are a mess - FCD’s middle brother called - his health is failing seriously.

As background, he’s been diabetic most of his life and he refused to ever change his diet or activity level. There’s talk of needing a kidney transplant. It makes me angry because he absolutely refused to ever take care of himself, and now he’s burdening his elderly parents. Plus, I never liked him, but that’s beside the point. So **FCD **is researching flights from FL to TX for his folks. I just want to scream.

Other than that, it’s a loverly day…

Home. Cable box in the living room is dead. Did a text chat with Om at Comcast. I know my equipment is very outdated and needs replacing so I told “Om” that we are old and not tech savvy and they must send a tech with the new equipment and we will pay if necessary. Appointment is set for Thursday between 10 and noon and he said there will be no charge. I don’t know that I believe that. Now I am not totally stupid and could probably figure it out but not my job. We pay a bunch of money for the service. Anyway we shall see. So for three days any TV watching shall be in the bedroom.

Poor hubby is irking and may be late.

Dang Mooommm poor old folks and FCD. Makes my cable woes seem so trivial.

I’ll be heading east in about ten days to visit my kids and grandkids. It will be the first time we’ve gotten together since my son Keith died last year, so is likely to be emotional. I miss my cat when I’m gone, and just the general comfort of my own things.

As for today, it’s pretty routine. Gotta get the garbage bins to the curb for tomorrow’s pickup. Made a peach-bourbon upside down cake. Hey, gotta use up all these fresh peaches.

The guy behind us is a major DIY type. He’s replacing the siding on his house all by his lonesome and it’s taking forever. Also, he really needs to replace the blade in his saw. I hear it bogging down and keep waiting for the scream when a chunk of siding takes an eye out. I suspect this project could go on for at least another week. :smack:

I don’t have the problem getting these kitties to be held. There’s always one in my lap, and occasionally when the other one decides it needs lap time, it gets in my lap and sits on top of the first one.

spidey,my first fear would have been lightening in a church, not vultures. :o

butters, when I have a dog walker for Nelson, one charges a flat fee of $10, but sometimes watches some TV or surfs the net without being pestered by his younger brothers. The other one charges $1 a minute, so If I want her to come once for 10 minutes, it’s a sawbuck. When he goes to daycare, it’s $27 a day for up to 13 hours. The upside to that is that if he needs a nail trim, it’s half price while he’s there, since they can work him in around other grooming clients. Should I kennel him at the vet’s, it’s $40 a day.

dancer, those are some adorable kittehs!

To answer the OP, I miss my pillows. The dog I take with me, I have no issues using a laundromat on a trip, and even when I have to rent a car, I look forward to trying something different.

I spent the morning putting out fires at irk. I finally got to begin doing the work that is my job title shortly before lunch. :stuck_out_tongue: It hit triple digits this afternoon, probably the second or third time this year. Since I’ve lived in Tennessee (25 years), I can count on just a couple of fingers that it hit 0F, but there are at least three days every summer that it hits a triple.

I checked into daycare for Buddy as a once in a while thing and it is $55 per day. Ain’t happening. On a positive note buddy did his business outside three times today. Hubby is good about seeing about him during the day.

Pretty kitties Dancer!

Congrats on the new home Bumba! When can we see pictures?

Moommm sorry to hear about the health woes. My dad and my MiL are the same way. “There are pills for that”, so they don’t change anything about their lives. Very annoying.

The movers worked until about 3, and they’ll be back tomorrow to finish up. I was looking forward to sleeping in my own bed tonight but I’ll have to wait for tomorrow.

We put Akiko out in the side yard for a bit while we were moving some things into the house. It wasn’t long before I started hearing puppy yips. I called her around to the back door and she came running in and did her whole “you left me” routine. She usually saves it for when I’ve been gone for several hours. It involves howling and a lot of wiggling. I think she thought we’d ditched her. Silly pup.

My son left his shoes out where Akiko can get them. I’m torn between letting her chew on them so he learns not to leave them out, or rescuing them since I’m the one that pays for them.

Steak for dinner tonight, I think. Or eating out. Eating out has an appeal, but I have the steaks. Decisions, decisions.

$55 A DAY!!!

Ripple is @$16 a day, I buy a package of 20 days for $325.
Single days are $25 or $30?

cute kitties Dancer

congrats on house Bum ba

happy moving Sunny

poor Ziva

sorry about the inlaws FCM

Wow! that’s double what I pay for Nelson for EoM daycare.

Dinner tonight was chicken Parmesan, known to the vulgar as “Chicken Spaghetti”.
I removed most of the damaged rim from a 55 gallon tank with a dremel and several cut off wheels. The replacement rim actually fits. =)

I am a lifelong Kansan and I have NEVER liked summer. It’s hot and humid and today was, I’m told, only a prelude to even worse to come.

I never even got away from this when I went overseas in the Army. I was in Korea, and I swear the weather was exactly like home, especially the summer. If you look at a globe Korea and Kansas are pretty much on just the same latitude, maybe that explains it.

I’m melting, melting, melting.

Blurf

Evening all. Front yard has been watered, which of course brough dark clouds rolling in, but no rain-but it did knock the temperature down from 98F to 76F now, which made soccer practice tolerable. Only 6 of the 12 kids made it, considering I got the practice schedule to them this morning, that isn’t bad. Girls practice tomorrow.

Never ate a Hot Pocket, probably never will.

Butters, I’d see if there is any other option available. That is a lot. And hope the Cable folks live up to the guys’ promise.

FCM, hope In-laws and FCD can manage things. Soulds like a frustrating situation.

dancer, nice kitties.

Sunny, hope you get to sleep in your own bed tomorrow at least.

Cookie, safe trip to see the kids. And condolences for your loss.

Bumba, good luck on the house.

Anyone I missed, take care and have a good 2day.
