Heya peeps… just wanted to warn you all that there is a major hacker who is stealing low number ICQ accounts. Low numbers apparently are any account under 400000. My cousin went to log on about three days ago only to find a message saying his password was not accepted. No matter how many times he tried it… no luck. In no way could he get access to his account. I logged on mine and searched his number… all his info was erased and there is some weird foreign name in his place. Searching around on the internet I found that AOL/ICQ has been aware of these goings on for months now. They CLAIM they can access the accounts, research who first opened the account and return them to their rightful “owners” but so far my cousin has gotten alot of talk and no results. Then today he got an email from some yahoo who claims for 50 bucks he can get his password and account back… Hmm… ICQ ransom??
There is some putz over in Turkey that has software that lets him access peoples ICQ accounts and let’s him change their passwords. I’ll keep you updated and let you know if he gets his account back. Just wanted to warn you all…
Oh… and if you know anyone who had their accounts stolen, please tell them to hug the snot out of AOL until they do something about it…!!
Tell you what, greenie. Instead, I’ll BUG the snot out of AOL till they do something about it.
