I still can’t figure out how this happened. On Sunday I got a message on my computer that said “ICQ is already running,” something you get if you try to log in to the same ICQ account on multiple computers. ICQ is installed on my office work computer and my home computer.
Later, I got a message telling me to type my password for my ICQ number, but my password didn’t work. I tried the password retrieval system, but the email address tied to that account is my ICQmail address, which needs–you guessed it–my ICQ password.
So now some dumb fuck stole my ICQ number and has my ICQ email address too, and I can’t get them back. It was just my spam mail account, but I did use it for some online orders (there’s no credit card number access available, fortunately).
