A strange incident (involving a dead chipmunk sealed in a baggie and frozen, don’t ask) brought this movie scene to mind, and now it’s driving me nuts to find which film it was in:
It’s a hot day, and a heavy set cop is talking to someone at some location with an ice dispenser. The ice dispenser is a horizontally oriented box full of ice, not the vertical ones that dump ice on demand, such as you usually see in hotels. Anyway, while the cop is talking to the someone, he blindly reaches into the ice bin for some ice to suck on. Unknown to him, there is a body hidden in with the ice. Whoever he’s talking to knows this, as does the audience, and we’re cringing in anticipation as the cop gropes in the ice, some of which has blood streaks on it.
I know this is vague, and only a single scene, but it was striking so maybe someone remembers it?
Never saw the movie, but I remember that scene from a reel of horror film trailers I saw a while back. I think it was from one of those bad pseudo-sequels to Psycho which Anthony Perkins did sometime in the late 80s/early 90s.
Well to expand a bit the movie you’re looking for is Psycho III I believe the body in the ice machine was a girl Norman just killed after his (assistant? handyman?) screwed her then threw her out.
This was a pretty silly movie the handyman finds out about Norman’s murder spree and then actually kidnaps Mrs. Bates and tries to blackmail Norman. Maybe it’s just me but I think blackmailing a serial killer is a bad idea. It’s not a very good Psycho film but it’s a serviceable slasher film. Psycho IV is a little better showing the origins of Norman’s insanity it’s still pretty bad but at least they were trying to make a Psycho picture in that one.
Best scene ever: Corpse pointing out danger to Norman while he fights the handyman.
This is why is sub to this message board: post a question about a scene in an obscure old movie in the middle of the night…and you have the answer within 90 minutes or so.
You know, this stuff really doesn’t sound at all familiar? Maybe I only saw that scene in some sort of clip show… Anyway, off to Netflicks, thanks!
