Can anyone out there tell me who wrote a poem entitled “To the Ex-Husband on the Occasion of His Birthday”? I believe that’s the title.

Actually, you’ve got it in reverse- the poem was written by a man named Thomas Lynch , and it was originally entitled “For the Ex-wife on the Occasion of Her Birthday.”

Of course, many women undoubtedly heard that poem and had similar thoughts and feelings about their ex-husbands. So, most likely, a woman took Lynch’s poem and changed the gender.
