Hi, I’d like to introduce myself. I’m ** Cub Mistress ** and I’ve been a member for a few weeks now and it’s high time I said hello to the person who told me about this board. I’m Brynda’s big sister and, by extension, ** RickQ’s ** sister-in-law. A long time back, ** Brynda ** called me up to tell me I "just had to come to the Straight Dope.” I did, and was much impressed. I was also intimidated as hell so I contented myself with lurking off and on and went off to cut my teeth on a smaller, cozier board. Well, I think I’m ready for the Big Board now, so here I am.
You might wonder why ** Brynda ** and RickQ haven’t welcomed me to the SDMB as is apparently the custom. It’s because I’ve been teasing them (well, really only ** Brynda **) by refusing to divulge my Doper name. This thread is to see how long it takes them (once again, really only ** Brynda ** ) to find me hiding in plain sight, as it were.
I’m really enjoying it here. You’ve been most gracious. Please, no fair e-mailing to give anyone the heads up on this thread, mmmm-kay?
It’s traditional to offer chocolate to FairyChatMom as part of the initiation process – since she hasn’t checked in yet, why don’t you just send it to me and I’ll make sure she gets it?
Thanks for the welcome, everyone! Not Really all That Bright, the name is because I’m an ex-Scout Leader. I referred to myself as the Cub Mistress once and saw some, hmm, *amused * glances. Between the glances and the surreptitious adjusting of several pairs of Scout leader shorts, I decided to use “Cubmaster” instead. Twickster, I’ll get right on the “Chocolate to FairyChatMom thing.” Wouldn’t want to violate long-standing traditions. So kind of you to offer to facilitate the initiation process for me.
don’t ask I’ll save the Pit thread for if I get really desperate, but I love the title.

Welcome, Cub Mistress! While twickster and I do have a connection (as evindenced in my sig), she is most certainly not my chocolate clearing house. In fact, she’s just sneaky now, isn’t she?
None of my sisters are on the board because, well, I don’t want them here. They just ruin everything. I coulda been a pampered only child, but instead they had to come along. And my brother, too. So they can’t come play here. The brats.
