ID the movie by this vague pseudo-sex scene

No memory of who was in it, although I’ll remember everything once someone can ID it. Fairly recent movie, IIRC.

Wife is despondent over husband’s disinterest in her over the years. Finally she confronts him, and in a last-ditch effort to stir things up she says “Kiss me.” So they starts kissing passionately, then she says “Fuck me.” Then they go to the couch and start taking clothes off…then she freaks out, gets all pissed off, says something like “I will NOT demean myself like this for you! GET OUT!!!”

Ring any bells? Needless to say, a Google search was less than helpful.

I’m pretty sure this is from Follow that Bird. Is 1985 recent?

I actually IMDb’ed that. Cracking up over here.

Reminds me of a scene in American Splendor. You’d think I’d have a clearer memory of a movie that recent.

Not American Splendor (great movie). I meant to say American Beauty.

Yeah, it sounds like American Beauty. But the wife only gets pissed when the husband almost spills his beer on the Italian sofa when things start to get steamy.

And when Kevin Spacey confronts his wife at the drive-thru later in the movie is priceless movie gold.

Definitely not American Beauty, which I have on DVD. Sigh. Nobody at the bar last night knew either, and boy did I get some strange looks.

I think maybe it was an independent movie that wasn’t in theaters, and he was a hit man. Not sure about that though.

I haven’t seen the movie, so my WAG is “Eyes Wide Shut.” It reputed tediousness explains why you now can’t recall it.

No, that’s not in Eyes Wide Shut.

For some reason I’m thinking this is from an episode of The Shield.

Just thought I’d let everyone know that I figured out what movie this was. Still thinking vaguely that it was about a hit man, I went through my list of watched NetFlix movies, and I found it - it’s from Panic. William H Macy is involved in the family business - being a hit man. Donal Sutherland is his father, and his wife, played by Tracey Ullman, doesn’t know that he and his dad are hitmen, and she doedsn’t understand why he has become distant, leading to that scene. Great movie if you haven’t see it - John Ritter is also quite good as his psychiatrist, as is Neve Campbell as a fellow patient.

THANKYOU!! Shortly after I posted I realized it wasn’t ‘The Shield’ but I couldn’t for the life of me remember what it was and it was driving me crazy. All I could remember was that I’d seen it within the last year or so.
