ID this reference in Seinfeld scene

Please can somebody help me out with a reference in a Seinfeld episode that I don’t get? Its the episode where Morty Seinfeld gets impeached at the Boca Del Vista. At the end of the episode, he walks down the driveway with Jerry on one side and Mrs S on the other. The driveway is lined on both sides with people looking on. Nobody is similing. The Seinfelds stride through looking very serious. They get to the car and, just before getting in, Morty turns back to the crowd and smiles and waves to them. End of episode.

This is apparently a parody of some real life scene I’m not familiar with. Fight my ignorance.

If it’s the scene I’m thinking of, it’s Nixon leaving the White House after he resigned.

I think it’s a reference to President Nixon.
