ID this Spider-Man villain?

We’ve had this Spider-Man jigsaw puzzle for kids at our house for years, but we’ve never been able to figure out who the bad guy is in the picture. It doesn’t say on the box. I know we have a ton of comic book experts around here. Any help?

Looks like Doctor Doom.

Spider-Man did tangle with him a few times in the early years.

Yup. Looks like Doc Doom to me, too.

Could be a Doombot Actually a Doombot - TV Tropes

I don’t know who it is, but it is NOT Doctor Doom. Doom’s cape is dark green. He also wears metal gloves, this guy has talons.

Here’s the comic

I thought Doctor Doom wore an iron mask and suit. This looks more like some sort of creature with glowing eyes and claws for hands and feet. Is that a variant of Doctor Doom that I’m not familiar with?

There’s been several versions of Hobgoblin over the years. I’d guess it’s one of those.

A little more searching, and I’m pretty sure it’s Green Goblin from the Ultimate Universe.

It’s the Ultimate Earth Green Goblin. Who’s a goblin-y Hulk type, rather than the regular Earth Goblin who’s a guy with an exceptionally bad haircut who wears a rubber mask.

I think this may be it. It’s hard to see in the original puzzle photo I linked to, but there is a horn sticking out of the hood over his eye. Other than the clothing, it looks like a match.

ETA: Yeah, I didn’t scroll down all the way on that page, the last photo definitely looks like the same guy. Thanks Daddypants and Fenris!

Confirming it’s the “Ultimate” (“Earth-1610”) Green Goblin/Norman Osborn. The specific image is from Ultimate Spider-Man #24, September 2002, and has dialog which was omitted for the jigsaw puzzle.

Just sayin’, when I click the link, I see a whole screen full of images, and I can’t tell which one we’re all talking about.

As best I can tell, the OP refers to this jigsaw puzzle, and the Amazon ad includes a picture of the completed puzzle, which shows the antagonist’s hands and feet, making his identification easier.
