The song that I’m thinking of is instrumental (at least the bits that I’ve heard of it), so it’s a little tricky to google it with just “BAH BAH BUM”.
Anyway, the song is played often when a bunch of heroes walk in slow motion to convince the audience that they are badass. I hate to expose anyone to the Zoom (2006) trailer but it’s the only place that I know of where one can hear it.
Here’s the Zoom trailer page at IMDB and click on Trailer 1. It starts at 40 seconds when they say “we’ve been tracking an object” and at 45 seconds in, there are three chords. That’s the song. It doesn’t appear to be on the Zoom soundtrack.
Thanks everyone for trying to identify this song for me.
PS: For the love of god, please don’t see the movie.
Don’t even need to see it, but I’m willing to bet it’s “Battle Without Honor or Humanity” by Tomoyasu Hotei, which came to popularity when used in Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill Volume 1. It was also used in Team America: World Police in a similar “badass slow motion walking” scene.
That kicks ass. I will probably not be able to watch either movie without replacing the Nazgul and Gogo Yubari in their respective scenes. I just saw both movies the other last weekend. I will be giggling about that all night.
The track is from Nettwerk Music Group - Requiem for a Tower. A remake of the remake of the ‘Lord Of The Rings’ version of ‘Requiem for a Dream’ by Clint Mansell.
Ha! This post made me think of the scene in Kelly’s Heros where our guys walk down the street to face the German tank (y’know, to make a “deal deal…maybe the guy’s a Republican”). Just based on names, I’ve got Telly Savalas (Big Joe) as Big Bad Voodoo Lou, Donald Sutherland (Oddball) as Guano Lad, and Clint Eastwood (Kelly) as Airman Doors, USAF. Of course, in the film, they use the spaghetti western theme, but still. Maybe it just means I need to go make my coffee now…
