Partially remembered fragment. There’s a cluster of fairly close-knit people, somewhat akin to the main characters in The Good Place or the kids in Stranger Things… They have (for reasons I can’t recall) the opportunity to go back (to yesterday? very briefly back in time) and try again, to fix what happened. And what happened was that there was an armed robbery at a deli or bodega sort of place and they need to make it come out right so that none of them are dead in the aftermath. It’s a problem if one of the close-knit people (he’s a brother of one of the other folks) is in the deli when in come two guys to rob the place, because he gets shot. It’s also a problem if they get out of there and dilly-dally while getting away from the scene and the police show up because they’ll decide these are the armed robbers and they’ll shoot them. The person or people who go back to try to fix things (I think it’s just one person at a time who can make the attempt?) tries to alert the police so they’ll already be there but that doesn’t work… also tries to delay the robbers, divert them so they aren’t there yet at the critical time…
Oh, and the place FROM which whoever is going back in time to try to fix things takes off to do it is sort of an alleyway, I think there’s a car in the alley, they need to disappear without drawing attention, I think there’s a flash of light or something when they go but not sure about that part… but definitely that sense of a mostly-hidden tiny little side street that’s a safe place to depart from.
Anyone, does this ring any bells?
